shifter knob replacement

Bought a new shift knob for my 2025 Wrangler 6 speed manual. I be damned if I can't get that shift knob off. I watched the install video and it shows the guy just pulling it off. I feel like I am going to pull the shifter from the floor. Any one do it before and have any tips? I am going to look like an idiot bringing it to the dealer with 75 miles on it with the shifter laying in the front seat. Thanks

When I had to replace mine, I had to twist as I was pulling. It did take a bit of force.

double check make sure their isnt a set screw in there. if u look up the directions on youtube, some have a set screw. i cant remember if mine did or not.

thanks for the help. I wound up screwing up the shifter and have to tow it to the dealer. Tried everything. The shifter is now broken off, just floating in the cover. No set screw, just jammed on there real good.
