I'm also going to re-route the cables. Red arrow is where the wires go now. I was thinking either somehow under one of the yellow lines. I guess I'll see what I can do once I get into it.

If I’m not too late you can remove three bolts, lift up the air box and intake tube and prop it out of the way. I routed my cables through a couple of cable clamps attached to the front of the battery box.

I ended up going up through the fender wells and between the air intake and the battery.

Can you zoom out on a pic showing where those Torx bolts you circled are on the winch. I’m disoriented What model of winch is it?

It’s a Badlands Apex. I did end up getting them loose but snapped one in the process.

I’ll do a full write up with pics in about an hour. I’m now taking a well derserved lunch break to celebrate my mild success.

Well this is getting returned. It's supposed to be 2" wide. Is there something I'm not understanding here? I thought maybe then 2" was the shrink size but that can't be either at a 3:1 shrink ratio.

I don't understand what this could be used for as it could probably fit around my arm.

i still use your red route. But I do wrap the cables with that knitted poly material wrap. I could not get yellow route to work unless i took air box out, and I may have needed longer cables. I simply zip tied the double wrapped winch cables to various things going up next to rear of radiator. It has worked for 12 years.

Well I hit a bit of an issue. I can't get into the top of the winch to bolt in a new positive cable.

It looks like these have to come out to get inside the box but they won't budge at all. Anyone have any ideas?

I almost did the same route but didn't want what happened to happen again. It got shredded on some belt in the engine bay because I didn't know what I was doing.

Hopefully this lasts now the way I have it.
