after some research and a lot of tests, i think i have identified the symptoms:

after some small amount of driving (im less than 10 miles to work) the reverse lights and back up camera will not come on in reverse (manual trans) this also happens in conjunction with a "Service Stop/start system" warning.

this problem resets every time you turn it off. i can shut it off, problem goes away and returns within several minutes. its not intimidate like the bend pin problem in the door connectors. its VERY automatic and happens every time i drive the vehicle.

anyone seen this or have any suggestions? ive reset every fuse in the box, tightened the bolted power connections and checked for bent pins in the door plugs (i take them off a lot)

i removed my superchips programmer and unpaired it and am completely back to stock from electronically except for the iDrive unit on the pedal.

I am having the same issue. Did you figure out a fix?
My JLUR is completely stock other than the 35" tires. When I'm driving, every time I hit 5th gear (manual trans) the Service Auto Start Stop light comes on and stays on. Also my backup camera and rear tail lights won't work with the error light on. If I restart the vehicle it resets, but as soon as I hit 5th gear again the error light/message comes back and the camera and tail lights won't work again. I had the dealership look at it for over a week. They said that the 35's were causing the issue and after trying to reset the system they wouldn't do anything more. I have a superchips also. I know that Tazer JL has a relearn procedure for this issue, but I can't find one for Superchips. If I can't get it figured out, I will probably try switching to the Tazer and seeing if that makes a difference.

Wondering if you guys were able to get the problem fixed because I'm having the exact same problem. A few minutes after starting the Jeep the Stop/Start system alarm comes on and I lose the Reverse lights and backup cam. The camera isn't a major issue-this is the first vehicle I've ever owned with one so I'm not used to using it anyway, and I don't even like the idea of Stop/Start. But i can't back up my driveway at night without lights! And they're there to warn people that you're about to back up.

When Summit Automotive in Fond Du Lac, WI, the dealership I bought mine from, couldn't figure it out I posted on here and was contacted by Jeep Cares. Jeep Cares was professional, and suggested I take it to Sheboygan Chrysler, whom I've dealt with before and always had great experiences with.
Summit Auto had my Jeep for over a week and could figure it out. Sheboygan Chrysler was able get it fixed within a day, but unfortunately determined it wasn't warranty work because the tires weren't factory size, so I ended up paying them $165.42 to flash the computer and calibrate my JL for the 35" tires. Has been working perfectly since. No errors and I have my reverse lights and camera working again. About to go to 37's and a 3.5" Metalcloak lift, so I'm hoping the dealership will be able to program for the 37's. I don't trust the Flashcal for manual JL's anymore, so if the dealership can't program for the 37's I'll try a Tazer JL. At least they have a recalibration procedure for the manual transmission to bypass the errors if I get one.

Not sure if this will help, though it may be worth a shot... After re-gearing, I encountered an issue where the start/stop system would fail as soon as I shifted into the higher gears. This would cause my rear camera to stop working, along with (I believe) my backup lights not coming on.

Talking with my local tech, he recommended re-calibrating the on-board computer by disconnecting the battery for a few hours. After reconnecting it, I was asked to hit the interstate where I could maintain 70 miles per hour in 6th gear (I have the manual transmission) for 20-30 seconds. It worked immediately, and I never had the camera/backup light issues again. I would assume doing 70 in the automatic transmission works, too, as long as you're in overdrive (i.e. not going uphill).

Understanding that many here haven't necessarily re-geared to trigger some of the issues described, it may be worth trying the above steps.

Good luck to all!

Hi Allgash27,
Thanks for reaching out here. We certainly agree that this is concerning, and recommend that you bring it to the attention of your dealer as soon as your are able. If you would like our additional assistance during your servicing visit, feel free to send our team a private message with your VIN.

Update: my local dealer was able to fix it. They had to replace the shifter position sensor. The reverse lights and backup camera work all the time. Auto Stop/Start works too, though it's so cold up here and my drive to work isn't that long so it rarely warms up enough to activate, and when it does it restarts the engine pretty soon for "cabin heating and cooling". I have to say the Auto Stop/Start isn't as annoying as on an Auto trans because it only activates when you put it in neutral and take your foot off the clutch. If I'm just stopping briefly at a stop sign I don't do that so it never shuts down.

Where start/stop wont work. (Says service unavailable in yellow on cluster).
Back up camera wont turn on when put into reverse gear
And it wont show which gear i am in.

kinda frustrating to have it in new jeep with just 150km on it.

I just bought a 2018 Unlimited Sport with a manual trans. It had 35s on it when I bought it and I found out they did not recalibrate the spedo so I bought the Superchips Flashcal F5 and recalibrated my spedo. Now whenever I hit 5th gear I get a message saying that my stop/start system needs to be serviced. Did disconnecting the batteries help? If so, how long did you leave them disconnected?

To anyone having this issue, I would 100% recommend disconnecting both batteries for 20-30 minutes, then doing step 4 of the gear position relearn procedure that Tazer has. I have a Superchips and it worked for me. My Jeep has been back to normal for over a year now.
