Two days ago, while pulling into a gas station, my Stop/Start feature momentarily engaged even though I never came to a stop. When the engine came back on, I had no power steering. A restart made everything good again. Yesterday, while on the highway, in rainy stop and go traffic, it happened two more times. The second time I ended up driving about 30 miles without power steering because of the road conditions. This second time, it also made my check engine light come on.

I am at the dealership now . I am about a 10 hour drive from home and I must drive home tomorrow. I told them I just need it to be roadworthy, not completely fixed. I think I can prevent it from happening on the ride home if I disable the stop/start feature upon starting the Jeep. I can then get it fixed back home after my upcoming business trip.

I know it is a first year vehicle, so I am not worked up. Real combat kinda puts things like this in perspective. I will keep you all updated in case one of you ends up with a similar issue.

DO go to the fuse box (power distribution center) next to the main battery and take the cap off. Now, press down firmly on every fuse in there. You will find fuses there that are not seated properly. Do not take it for granted the dealer tech has done this as undoubtedly he has not.

You may very well find that the issue you are having will be remedied by properly seating the fuses.

I have also had the same warning come up on my JLUR twice. I did not lose power or power steering and after shutting the Jeep off and restarting later, the message was gone and the Start/Stop worked again. Just an FYI that mine is a manual and the start/stop gets little use. I will be checking the fuses tonight - thanks @Rhinebeck01 for the suggestion.

Just started my JL Sport S this morning and my dash looked exactly like yours, along with "service auto start/stop". Just had the dealer run the codes. About 14 different voltage errors along with an evap leak popped up on his computer. I have 200 miles on this Jeep.. I'm really hoping that all of these issues will be tied to one thing, like a bad auxiliary battery. The gas cap is tight, so maybe low voltage is triggering a false positive with that sensor? Regardless, frustrating to say the least.

To be honest that system shouldn't even be on the jeep. I know it is there to appease the Regulator gods, but this is a recreational vehicle it's purpose is to have fun and burn gas.

100% agree with you Brian! If you put this system on a Camaro, it would be laughable! We didn't buy Jeeps for the fuel economy. I intentionally bought the V6 for something tried-and-true and fewer points of possible failure. Wish the start/stop had been optional. The gas used to take it to the dealership for repair probably outweighs how much fuel the system will save me over the next six months anyway.

@aestes89 I have a JL Sport S as well and have noticed some strange behavior. The last couple of times I've gotten in my JL, I put my foot on the brake pedal and push the Start/Stop button only to have the electronics to turn on but the Jeep not start. I fiddled with it a little, and think turned it all the way off then back on and it started. Didn't pay too much attention to the warnings.

Did your warning come up when you tried to start it or after it was already started?

Thank you so much for this. The Jeep had over a page of single line typed historic error codes from yesterday (see pics). Almost all were loss of communication between the PCM and different sensors. It seems like the PCM glitched for a second then everything started working again. The service department reset everything, checked the fuses (and pushed them in) and the back of the fuse box where all of the wires go in.

Everything is now operating as designed. I plan on turning off the stop/start feature for the ride home, then I will return to normal ops and see how it goes.

Same prob here.. if you find anything let me know.. I noticed the batt cond. was under 50% capacity.. the charge voltage 12.9 I told the dealer this and they never checked it.

I have the same message...Someone on here suggested unplugging the drivers door wiring harness, and once i did that the warning light and message did not come on. Came right back as soon as the door was plugged in.

Quick update on what the dealer did to fix mine, they replaced both the main and aux batteries. So far, so good. They suspected it was a bad battery providing inadequate voltage, setting off a bunch of false readings from the sensors. Been since Friday and I have yet to see a check-engine light. :)
