I have a 2018 JL Wrangler 3.6L and ive had this issue since purchasing the car in 2020, The dealer did replace the vacuum pump hose the last time i went and it kept the errors from popping up for a couple months but they eventually returned. I never really cared to get it resolved after multiple dealer visits failed to resolve the issue because The only issue i expierenced was the stop/start system was disabled so i didnt mind that, but now that its time for a smog check i need to get this fixed...i started with most common fixes...replaced the aux battery, replaced the vacuum hose and vacuum pump...errors are still popping up. Ive seen that a bad brake sensor can also be a culprit or the fuse block on the fuse box potentially. A 30amp fuse F35 in fuse box for brake vacuum pump keeps blowing...anyone ever experienced this before?

UPDATE: after having replaced the Vacuum pump electronic stability control error has went away but i was still getting the service auto stop start system...a bit more research turned up a likeley culprit which was the hood sensor for the stop start system being out of place and not making contact with the hood...all errors clear, thanks for all the advice everyone!

Have you tried turning the wheel lock to lock on dirt or gravel? Not saying it'll definitely fix it, but it did when I had more severe issues with ESC.

Unfortunately Jeep decided to tie that error to almost any fart in their frying pan of tech. Had the same error and found it tied to a flaky starter relay. Once it failed to start 3 months later and I replaced it, you can guess what error stopped popping up. No way to figure out what was causing the Service Stop/Start alert before that happened.

By way of example, I can confirm that accumulated detritus on the brake and/or wheel hub assemblies can trigger the bolded message. My experience here. Just something to keep in mind, particularly since such build-up can occur in a variety of ways.

It shouldn't affect emissions testing if there's no CEL.
There needn't be an illuminated CEL on the dashboard for stored error codes to be present. A dealer's diagnostic equipment will be capable of extracting what consumer-grade devices can't...as the OP's post seems to confirm. Thus his concern about CA's strict smog check regimen.

Stored codes without CEL won't trigger emissions test failure. Any code that affects emissions will set CEL.

Yes, they can, Bob. Personal experience here, with regard to a Honda that we used to own. That's why I mentioned the ability of a dealer to extract that particular data. I learned something that day, and had to spend a few dollars for the repair, during the vehicle's annual safety and emissions inspection appt.
