Is blocking of programming unauthorized keys reversible if the nolimitz is removed?
Yes, that’s why liked it as an option. You can toggle it on or off, and it can be set to off, then removed.

Is the security enclosure from Zautomotive big enough to house the green canbus block and the nolimitz module and wiring?

no, the wiring to the green star connector is to big to fit into the security box. Today, I’m going to determine if the box is even useful. I may just use some Velcro and tuck the module out of the way.

Ok great I’m interested since the key programming is reversible but I guess that’s a two edged sword. You may already know, but if you google “aluminum project boxes” you will find a variety of sizes and one may work with the green canbus. Then just add some security hardware for some minimal level deterrent.

Yeah I’m seeing some great stuff at polycase.com. I'll be working on it here in a few hours, I’ll get some measurements for a box that I think would work. I can be the Ginny pig on getting the right size.

Z-Automotive did get back to me and confirmed that the connection must be made on the green star CanBus connector. And that the security enclosure should include the unit and the connector that originally plugged into the star connector, so that way it cannot be plugged back into the star connector. I have ordered a larger box to see if I can created a security enclosure that will include the entire green CanBus connector.

Not sure what’s going on. Battery was dead this am. All was fine until NoLimitz install. Anyone experienced this? I did upgrade the firmware before installing.

Do you have a Tazer too? I’ve heard of the Tazer killing the battery if you don’t reboot and sleep cycle x 2, but I haven’t had any issues with the nolimitz killing battery.

I had this happen when the NoLimtz first came out. I charged the battery and the Jeep wouldn’t start until I unplugged the NoLimtz. I then tried to update the NoLimtz and it would read it on the computer. They ended up sending me a new NoLimtz.

I was able to start the jeep after I charged the battery. Hoping that it just didn’t go to sleep after the initial install. I’m going to monitor it for the next few days,.

My understanding is that the NoLimitz settings has a tamper mode , that when set to on, if it is unplugged or cut, it sends the jeep into lockdown mode.
Where did you get this info? Getting answers from zAuto is like pulling teeth. Their user guide doesn’t go into much detail on the security aspects.

I was under the impression an experienced thief could just unplug the obvious wire from the canbus and bypass the NoLimitz. I was planning on splicing and making it look like a normal plug.

I guess I will try to unplug tomorrow and see what happens as I have tamper on.

Yes, so unless unlocked how could a thief get that far without setting off the tamper, brake lock, sonic guard, no start, no torque if started, panic mode including a light show if also a Tazer ?
I don’t see sonic guard in my settings. Do you have it active?

I inferred it from one of their videos on you tube, so I’d be interested in hearing what happens, or if the tamper mode is only activated when an attack on the CanBus is detected, like trying to make a new key

I think if you unplug the wire from the NoLimtz and plug it into the green star connector everything goes back to factory. I think all the magic happens in the NoLimtz box. Therefore if you put the NoLimtz in a locking Box it can’t be unplugged.

No, but it’s listed
• Sonic Guard - when a Tazer is detected it unleashes a series of loud test tones thru the radio system. …….
• Light Show- also if Tazer detected …….
I don’t have the Tazer live

Yeah, I was told by them a few weeks ago that the Tazer and NoLimitz don’t work together 100%.

I was inquiring about a NoLimitz setting that allows you to select Tazer as the option, I think AutoLockdown.

Either way, they told me it didn’t work correctly. After some time spent changing settings I am currently running the Tazer and NoLimitz side by side with no issues.
