I only like a matching top colour,matching fenders too,all personal taste of course... I have had 3 Wranglers since 2007 and the 2010 I had a body shop paint the top to match as at that time Jeep did not offer that as an option,they cursed me when they tried to sand the textured finish of the black hardtop but it looked great in the end. I will be placing my SECOND order Monday! Sting Gray and will order the black top as the coloured one is still restricted,if it opens up before my order goes to D1 I will change it,if not I will get it sanded and painted as soon as it arrives,the black top is $800 CDN cheaper than the body coloured so just a bit of inconvenience

As much as I like color match everything (getting a Granite JLUS with body colour freedom top), I did think about Sting Gray at some point, and I think I would’ve gotten it with a black top as I’d be afraid that the flat grey might be a bit too boring, and the contrast from the top makes it « pop out » more

I also love color matched, but since I plan to take the hard top off and on (I have the dual top group) I was worried that it would scratch easier, or be harder to cover up if it did. The black Jeep tops are very easy to cover scratches with.

I agree I was also concerned that the all over flat Gray would be a little boring after a year or two,however, with the red accents: tow hooks,decals, badges and the red dash with red accents I think its going to look understated and will stand out from all the red/black/white/granite Jl's,I ordered an Ocean Blue originally as who knew if Sting Gray would even be released or if it would only be for a special edition,but I was worried about the match/clash of the red against the blue, the next day they released Sting gray so that made me change my mind.all personal taste of course.

I will join your club!.. canceled my Ocean Blue Rubicon Unlimited as the next day they released Sting Gray!.( I have seen enough in past years to know that just because they list a colour for the year they don't always build it or it can be reserved for a special editon so didn't want to wait for Sting gray knowing I might wait forever) Ordered today: Sting Gray Rubicon Unlimited/Manual/Uconnect 4C NAV and sound group/cold weather group/LED lighting/steel bumpers/body coloured fenders/trail rated kit/proximity and a black hardtop that I will have sanded and painted!..Took my still lovely 5 year old Rock Lobster Sahara for trade in valuation at the same time,now the wait starts!...

Wow...that’s impressive. When I ordered the Red JLUR, the dealership laughed at me when I asked about Sting Gray...corrected the way I pronounced it..they called it stingray. I asked them about it and they knew nothing. I liked the name and tried to find it online to no avail. So, way to stick it out I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

I will have her for another 4-6 weeks,if Jeep do not decide to put the Jeep badges on restriction and hold back my order!... but will def miss this Jeep....looked at my first JL up close today, the leasing company had a JL Sahara in the showroom,smelled sooo good!... such an upgraded interior to mine,and thats the main reason for buying the JL,I could almost be happy with a JK from the exterior,but the interior on the JL is a huge leap forward,the infotainment/bluetooth in my 2013 is pretty poor by today's standards
