Are seat jackers worth it? Seems pretty expensive for what it actually is.
I was in the same place as you a year ago but had the opportunity to take the same four hour road trip twice in a month both with and without the seat jackers. It was not so much that it felt better with the seat jackers, it was that it felt normal instead of the seat being uncomfortable two hours in. I only realized it when I drove straight through and realized that I had not needed to stop and stretch my legs.

So if you elevate the front, do the back brackets just bend to accommodate the change in front height?

You're not hijacking this thread. This thread is about seat jackers.

Looks like the Adjustable ones you linked are for the JKs and not for the JLs. That's what you're missing. I thought they were a little expensive too, but when you consider how much time you spend sitting in your seat driving, they're worth it.

I'm 72" tall with a 32" inseam. I went with the shorties (0.75") and noticed a big difference. A little lift goes a long way. I kinda wish they had a 1.0" lift, but that might be a little too much. I think the 1.25" might be a little too much. Oh well...

From their website:
  • If your inseam is 28" to 34", we suggest the Shorty Seat Jackers® that lift the front of seat by .75 inches. The contoured Shorty Seat Jackers are compatible with the Contoured MMP.
  • If your inseam is 36" to 38", we suggest the Fixed Front Seat Jackers® that lift the front of the seat by 1.25 inches. The Fixed Seat Jackers are compatible with the Seat Jacker MMP.
  • If you're over 6'-2" and willing to do whatever it takes to fit in your Jeep, you might find our Seat Slammers do the trick. These are not for the faint of heart as they require cutting off the rear of your seat legs but they will stop you from hitting your head on the sound bar, provide a better view of stoplights and a clear view of your instrument cluster.
Buy the 0.75" ones. If you don't like them, I might just buy them from you if you want (I need to get a pair for the passenger side anyways). I think you'll like'm though.

These and a M.O.R.E. dead pedal make it a complete package for long distance driving comfort.

Paul... GREAT CATCH on the Adjustable ones being ONLY being for the JK... can't believe I missed that. So for the JL they only offer Shorty, Fixed and Slammer... seems SHORTY is the right size for me. I hate to pay $100-190 for a mod you don't even see! LOL

Looks like a 30 day return policy, and free shipping, so if it proves to not be worth while, then my only loss is to pay to ship back. Any discount codes for forum members? My site search says nope.

Good question. And for anyone with these, one install video mentioned having to cut the carpet around the jacker... is that something everyone agrees needs to be done?

I was able to pull the carpet forwards on the first Jeep. On the other I just cut it because it was easier. You need to do one or the other so the carpet doesn’t get sandwiched between the jacker and floor.

.75 for 6’1” and 31” inseam. Works great. I might like the 1.25 too but figured I would go with the company recommendation. No bending required and I didn’t cut carpet either.

Just got my Shorty (3/4") Seat Jackers installed. I've got lower back issues, and between these, and the dead pedal I installed, I can tell already my upcoming trip out west to the Rubicon is gonna be MUCH more comfortable! ?

Posted in another thread but this one seems more recent. Can anyone tell me if they are very short and tried this? I am actually under 5 ft and find my leg is not supported well. It leads to discomfort and some pain. I'm wondering if tilting it back would give it more support but I'm also worried it would be worse.

I have the Seat Jackers and they definitely improved my ride but I am 6’2” so not a lot of help. If you are handy or have some close that is handy, you could fab a couple small blocks of wood to simulate the feel.

I’m not saying drive around with them but loosen the two rear bolts and remove the front two bolts enough to slide the wooden blocks and sit in the seat and see how it feels before investing in the Jackers as you know, are not cheap and I don’t think they are returnable IIRC.

Thanks- yeah I saw another post where people used washers. Maybe I'll try that in the meantime before investing.

Yeah washers could work as well. Don’t make that a long term solution. Unlikely, but if something bad happened you don’t want to loading that bolt in bending. The block keeps the joint in shear (If that makes sense), washers don’t.

I went jackers, then slammers. 6'4" and unlike my wife, more torso than legs. Head would hit the crossbar.

Slammers mostly fixed that. Great products, really solved the issues.

Why are jeeps made for midgets, thats my real question. Americans arent getting smaller, ugh

I bought mine from Ohio Deisal Parts for manual seats..perfect for both front seats..im 5'5..brings your view up higher and short passengers like 5'3 and below can see over the hood. Since no seat height adjustment .wondering how they will work with new adjustable seats
