We tried installing out Bartact Baseline seat covers this morning and having some issues.
The supplied instructions didn’t match the product exactly, but we managed to get the front covers on with out too much struggle.
The problem is that the flaps that Velcro the upper cover together come undone when you recline the seat back. I can’t see any way to prevent this and the flaps overlap where the seat back and base rub together.
Has anyone else seen this problem?

I’ll be calling Bartact Tuesday but hoping to get some feedback in the meantime.

Thanks

LiVinit, I have had the same problems as you with installing Bartact's base line ("Performance") seat covers. In short, they are literally and physically impossible to install!

I recently (last month) finally took delivery of a 2022 2-door Willys Sport, for which I had purchased the Bartact seat covers earlier this year. But after fighting with those seat covers over, and over, and over, I finally had to come to the conclusion that they were either very badly made, or else made for some other kind of seat altogether.

Not only were the provided installation instructions less than useless, and not only did the seat covers fit poorly --- too tight in some dimensions, very loose and 'baggy' in others --- but as you discovered, I found them literally impossible to secure, either to the seats or to each other. But most especially regarding the parts with the velcro that are supposed to tuck down into the crease between the top of the seat and the bottom of the seat. Those velcro strips could NOT be made to reach each other, period.

More than that, though, the top part of the upper seat cover was extremely loose and baggy, even though that seat cover could literally not be pulled down, or tighter, one iota. I mean, it looked so sloppy that I would have been embarrassed to leave them on that way. And the sides of the bottom seat cover fell well short of extending all the way back, leaving a wide and sloppy-looking gap in front of the base of the seat belt and the plastic seat hinge housing, as well.

Maybe all those Jeep owners who have praised Bartact seat covers to the sky have the premium "Tactical" versions --- I cannot speak to those. But their base "Performance" seat covers are, as far as I'm concerned, not only NOT worth the money, but completely uninstallable and therefore useless.

I am currently in the process of returning these seat covers to Bartact, and want nothing more to do with them. The fact that I registered and joined this forum just to express my frustration and disappointment with Bartact's seat covers should tell you something all by itself.

That may come with the territory.

By way of example: After I installed neoprene-style seat covers in my JLU, I discovered that I couldn't fold the rear seat forward without the risk of pulling (tearing) at least a couple of the many retention straps that are used to give the covers their form-fitting aesthetic. I figured that was just the cost of doing business.

The front seats, which have the same style of cover, generally aren't adjusted or reclined, since there's no call for us to do so.

i am very unhappy with these Bartact covers. It’s been six weeks and still no replacement covers.
They did admit there was an issue but holy cow, how long does is take to make two new covers.
Communication has been almost non existent, I have to call and then leave a message or I’m told they will be shipping out the new covers soon.
Terrible customer service.
I’ll probably be returning the entire order also.

LiVinit, I am sorry to hear about your experiences with those seat covers, but I totally understand them, and I share your frustration and disappointment with them.

Honestly, I think I could have gone out and gotten some Wal-Mart or JC Whitney budget seat covers and had them fit better, and install vastly easier, than these Bartact ones.

If that is the case, Heimkehr, then that right there is a deal-killer for me, and should be for any other 2-door Jeep owner as well, as it is a grievous and utterly unacceptable design flaw.

So we are supposed to install seat covers on seats that can NEVER be folded forward to access the area behind the seats, or to allow passengers to access the back seats? REALLY? That is insane!

ANY aftermarket business that would design a seat cover in such an idiotic manner should be ashamed of themselves, and should be OUT of business.
