So would my assumption be correct with these wheels at-12 & 9in wide that they are impacting the shimmy/ wobble? Because it certainly feels like it.
Try 32 PSI. If that doesn't help, and the wheels are the only things you changed, then it sounds like it. I wonder if the wheels would be exacerbating any low caster, but it still comes back to the wheels being an issue. If you like poke, instead of messing with the wheels, why not replace the fender flares with smaller ones? (And perhaps a +25 offset wheel).

Appreciate everyones response so far. I've narrowed my wheel choice down to the Method mr703 (very similar to the look of my current Methods that are 17x9 -12mm). However these come in 17x8.5 w/ either 0mm or +25mm offset similar to AEV wheels.

My assumption from all my research is I will get a more correct scrub radius w/ better ride and on road manners (less bump steer, wobble/shimmy, better handling) with the +25mm offset. Am I correct on this assumption or won't be much different than going w/ the 0mm offset on 8.5 wide?

I only ask because my top priority is correct scrub radius and ride but would probably like the look of 0mm offset slightly better (and there cheaper right now). ;) Thoughts? thanks!

Don't worry about scrub radius. I run 3.5" backspace wheels, -38 offset, with 37" tires and don't notice anything different.

Caster will have more effect on wobble shimmy and handling than scrub radius ever will. JL's are notoriously too low on caster. Factory specs on caster is too low. On JL's castor needs to be 6.0 to 6.5 degrees.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
I run 315/70/17s on 17x8.5 +10 offset on our Sport, no problems w/ steering response (I do have the cast iron steering box).
