Looking to order a two-door probably a Rubicon at this point and wondering if for 2022 both of the safety groups that are currently optional will become standard?

I hope not but it is certainly possible. Those systems are the devil, order soon to avoid them and the forced electric power. The only way to avoid the e-torque now is to get the manual, which I did.
Or not order a 3.6 Sahara. The only way to avoid the e-torque now is to get the manual, which I did.
THE main reason for selling my wife's Golf R are the forced "safety" features like lane keep assist and the radar cruise control. When they start driving your car for you, you may take a different view. I find them to be incredibly dangerous. No computer can drive as well as a human. Abdicating control to electronics is a huge mistake IMO. If the make them "standard" they will raise the price accordingly. They won't be free anyway.
Why do either of you care what the other thinks?
Just order them as an option. If they become standard in 2022, the price will reflect it. It'll cost more either way.
I don't see it becoming standard without the package prices just absorbed into the MSRP. I suspect unless something becomes a federal requirement, it won't ever be made standard.
If LED headlights are not standard, I wouldn't expect anything else to be.
You do realize you can disable them right? LolTHE main reason for selling my wife's Golf R are the forced "safety" features like lane keep assist and the radar cruise control. Disable what on which vehicle? You do realize you can disable them right? Lol
On the Jeep.Disable what on which vehicle?
On the VW you can disable the lane keeping but you can not disable the radar cruise and brake assist. It is also useless in light snow, which we get a lot of. In this car you can not use cruise control without it braking wildly on a whim. Might be OK with you but I am over this "safety feature".
I also had a '15 power Wagon. They told me that with the lockers engaged the "assists" were disabled. That wasn't true either, no gas and brake crawling without the computer shutting the throttle down necessitating a restart in a precarious position. You could also hear and feel the traction control trying to work even when locked up. Then one day it tried to kill me while hauling some firewood by engaging the brakes while passing on a two lane. Safety systems only work for people who have given up on being attentive drivers.
It is going to be bad enough to have to manually shut off the stupid stop start on the new Jeep. Hopefully there is a work around for that "technology", I thought I saw one on this forum.
So you do realize that you can not totally disable any of it right?
