Rust....already??

why is my beast rusting already 2019 JLU
I live close to the ocean in BC but I’ve only had in 6 weeks. It’s two spots on each side of whats holding the bumper.

Salt in the air is brutal on anything metal. I'd look into treating your rig with something to fight rust.

Just a little on the weld. Nothing to worry about. If it does, take it to the dealer, and see if they can touch it up.

Correct. It’s not rust. It’s silica that has leached from the welds. If the OP is concerned about the silica deposits from your welds, she should check out some of the welds from some 2018s. She’s got it good, comparatively.

I live in a climate where they salt the roads and use very corrosive liquids to treat the roads I have all my vehicles treated with NHOU oil undercoating Its totally non toxic and works great I have a F-150 that’s been trough 7 winters and I don’t have a speck of rust I have my vehicles sprayed when they are new and they go inside the frame rails the doors and tail gate and all under my vehicles at a cost of $200-$250 depending on the size of the vehicles Then I get them touched up once a year for about $100 bucks This is a oil so it migrates and soaks into all the steel I can’t say enough good things about this stuff You should Google NHOU oil undercoating and try to find someone in your area to spray this on This stuff just works

I use Fluid Film. Lanolin based product. Sprayed my last 2 jeeps and trucks before I got them in the salt and they look new underneath.
