Rubicon Trail mid July

Looking for some guidance for an upcoming trip. We will have 8 days and the trip will center around the Rubicon Trail (bucket list) We plan on spending 3 days on this trail and thinking about mid week to hopefully lessen the crowds. Looking for advise on trails for a few days before and a few days after. Dispersed camping is most important.

Jeeps are a JL & a JT. Set up well, both on 40's, and pretty experienced "Rocklanders". Open to input.

I suggest giving onX a try.
Hit the discovery tab and find trails local to your area of interest.

Slick rock and deer valley trails off highway 4 are a great warm up before the rubicon. The dusy erishim trail is good too, but it's long. Can't really go wrong with anywhere in the high sierras.

You say you are planning on the Rubicon Trail mid July. The absolute worst time would be July 12 thru 14 as the Jeep Jamboree will be on that trail those days.

We will be in the area from July 12th - 20th and are going to try to do the Rubicon 16th - 18th. I really want to take our time and spend 3 days and 2 nights on the trail. It is the only dates that we have available.
