2021 Jeep Wrangler
3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine
Manual Transmission
Manufacturing Date: 25 March 2021
This is the third time the Jeep has a rough idle and sputter sometimes it feels like it is going to stall. It does it most of the time but not all the time and sometimes more pronounced than others. There are no codes reported.
The first time it happened there were no codes and dealership did not do anything. Then it got really bad with codes for the O2 sensor and I barely made it to the dealership. It turned out to be an oil leak from the right valve cover gasket leaking on to the O2 sensor.
The second time it happened it was attributed to both the main battery and aux battery failing.
Now the third time there are NO Codes again (yet) so the dealership is again not doing anything even though we know there is a problem. Warranty will expire in April and based on previous occurrences codes wont show up until it gets really bad and I am concerned it will be after warranty expiration or worse when I am out with my family.
Looking at previous posts I see other reporting fixes (in no particular order)
Variable Valve Timing Solenoid (VVT self test?)
Replace all six spark plugs per TSB 09-013-20
Vacuum System Leak
Valve cover leak on O2 Sensor
I sent these to the service advisor but he said they will all have codes which I do not have. How can I get the dealership to look at some of these even though there are no codes? We know there is a problem!!! Are these cars now so complicated that mechanics are unable to troubleshoot a clear problem without codes??
Any advise would be appreciated.
