So, a week after I ordered my 392, I placed an order with Gobi for their rack for the 392. I have their stealth rack on my 2020 3.6 JL, and am actually really happy with it, so figured I'd order one for the 392. As one does. Their website suggested 16-20 weeks to delivery, so this week being week 17 I reached out to them. Surprisingly, someone got back to me today. My previous experience with Gobi customer service was that they took a while to get back to you, if at all, and this time it was with disappointing news. Supply chain issues have caused my order to now potentially start build at the beginning of August, with the keyword here being "potentially". Even if they hit that estimate, it still needs to be built, packaged, and shipped, so the chances of seeing it before the end of August are, at best, slim.
I was planning an overloading trip for before then, which requires me having my RTT on top of the 392, which means I'm now looking into alternatives to the Gobi. I'd love feedback from folks about what has and hasn't worked for them in this regard. I need a dynamic load rating of >200 lbs, and the RTT is long enough to cover most of the length of the roof, so it can't be one of those short ones that only cover the rear section of the hard top.
