The standard alternator on a Wrangler will more than cope with a Genesis dual battery system. Iāve had it on two 2 door JKās and itās been fine from a charging perspective. I also installed the dual battery kit on my 2020 JLUR which has the tow package with the beefier alternator, but it will be...
I originally went with the standard 392 kit, so whatever springs those were. It did pretty well with minimum trailer-induced sag, an did even better after I upgraded to the 8100 Bilstein shocks (there werenāt any available at the time I ordered the kit so had to make do with 5100ās for a bit)...
So, upgraded my regular AEV springs to HC ones recently (2022 392), and took it out for a shake out yesterday on a nearby trail. As the trail got more technical, every time the suspension compressed on the driver's side, I could hear metal on metal. On inspection it turns out the spring was...
Wanted to say thank you to @BullMoose1776 for putting this together. Just made a set of these myself for my 392 from this list. Way sleeker than anything else out there. Love the minimalist look to them.
Have a Vorsheer-based Offroad trailer on 35's with a RTT. Fully laden, including 20 gallons of water were on about 3,200 lb. Towed it for many many miles with my 2020 JLUR 3.6 with 5.13 gearing and 37's. Can confirm that on the long, steady inclines, speed will steadily drop and the revs climb...
I do a 5 tire rotation every 5K, and just use a bottle jack or trolley jack under the axle at whichever tire Iām working on. Iāll also prop a jack stand under the chassis somewhere close by for safety. Not a fan of jacking using the pumpkin.
As for the āis it too lateā question: it depends on...
Last time I took it to them for this, the light was on when I pulled up at the stealership, but then didnāt come on again when the service tech plugged in and started it up. All that they could see was a stored error, and it wasnāt at all helpful, which meant they had nothing to go on.
But...
So Iām out on the last leg of a >6,000 mile roadtrip with my 2022 392. At least 200 miles of which was off-road on trails of varying difficulty. Oh, and towing a ~3,000 trailer all the way as well.
Luckily nothing happened whilst out and about in the Moab back country, but then after a...
Oooh, yeah. Youāre right. I hadnāt looked that closely at the other pic.
Interesting. So not only the cracked runner boots, also missing pieces. I really should go inspect the rear ones.
Just over 16,500 miles, 11 months old. Iāve replaced them with the Steer Smarts ones. Not super impressed that they didnāt even make a year though.
A Wrangler as new as yours shouldn't need upgrades yet. Driving the Audi is not going to help your perception of the Wrangler drive: source - my wife has one as well.
Couple of things:
* check tire pressure: factory settings are often way too high. Do a chalk test
* check the torque on the ball...
What I was suggesting was that doing the fuse seating just once probably isnāt always enough. I did mine the day I picked it up, and then every time after I got that error message. If you havenāt done the reseating since delivery Iād personally suggest it wouldnāt do any hard to do it again.
So just a question, but have you gone through the fuse box and pressed down on all the fuses to make sure theyāre properly seated?
Iāve had this happen to me twice in 16K miles, and each time Iāve āfixedā it by going through the fuse box and pressing the fuses down. And both times Iāve had...
Towed my off-road trailer to the UP and back from VA late last year. Fully laden the trailer is north of 3,000 lbs without blinking. At the time I was pretty much stock, and whilst the engine did not struggle at all with the extra weight, the suspension was not so happy. Mods like aftermarket...
Thank you! What about putting it back? Just reverse the procedure using a fist to keep it centered as it goes back? Gentle rotation to get the splines lined up?
Re the FAD, have the 392 so no FAD, thankfully.
