Rocky Gap BoH October 12th

I am trying to see where I would camp Friday night. If anyone has recommendations I’m all ears.

I was just scoping this out, I believe you can dispersed camp at spots along Lovell rd. Which is right before trailhead.

edit: we camped right at the Rocky Gap trailhead a few miles down Lovell canyon rd.
there were numerous pull offs for camping along the road, most already occupied.
When I spoke to the ranger at Spring Mountains National Recreation Area station, she said she did not think the “100ft from road” rule applied here. I mean, non of the pulloffs are 100 ft away, either… so I think she was right.

You might look up on Mt Charleston for camping to get up into the forest and out of the heat.

On the other hand, there's a Padres and Dodger game on Friday night, given the Dodgers are stompin the dog snot out of the Padres tonight. Probably could find it on in a hotel pub not far from the trailhead. I might even be convinced to come up for that.

Alright, I got a pass for Friday night/Sat. How many of you Padres pina colada pounders want to meet up at a hotel pub Friday night for the game?

Theres a bunch of hotels around the Blue Diamond exit at Basspro . Then theres some just east of Red Rock park in Sumerlin.

heads up for everyone. Ive been watching the vegas are temps... looking like the lower elevation will be in the mid 90's but the trail weather guide from OnX has rocky gap trail high at 72 in the day and 48 at night.

also currently looking at possibly running odessa in Calico sunday morning.

ive been texting with maverick. he's thinking about camping out somewhere on the way back on sat night. then the trail in the morning. it sounds good to me. anyone else interested?

id love to but id never make it in time. not off work till 4 and traffic will be nuts being friday night towards vegas. i either gotta leave late friday or early sunday..

or call in sick friday.....

do you mean sunday morning? saturday morning is Rocky Gap.....

i have no idea on the trail. that's @Maverick909 department. im just here for propaganda and to rally the troops.
