I recently had the Rock Slide Engineering Power Sliders put on my 2020 Rubicon JLU. I came out yesterday and my jeep battery was dead, however the steps the steps still dropped when I opened my door. I jumped it off and ran it for over an hour. Parked it last night went back out this afternoon and it was dead again. Has anyone had this problem? I'm beginning to think that the installers wired something to a constant hot wire and that's draining my battery. Any ideas?

they checked all the wiring and it was fine. They said my battery didn’t have enough juice to run the car and the steps. Once I changed my battery and got a new one, no more issues. Good luck

Same problem here. I did a parasitic draw test. Got a .152A draw. I think its from the light on the switch which stays on all the time and is a direct connect to the battery. When I disconnected it the draw went down to .012A. An acceptable (month longish before needing a top up) draw is considered .020A to .050A. I have ordered a switch replacement with no light ( thank you @crackedconch see thread ) I will do another draw test after test that. I have a Genesis Off-Road double battery system and had attached this to my accessory battery. I recently had a situation where I jumped in and hit the Run button and all the electronics went haywire. Every light in the dash went nuts the wipers were on full, and I could not shut it down. I jumped out to disconnect the battery but while looking for a wrench the whole thing just slowly died like a dying light bulb and just flickered out. Door nail dead. Nothing no interior light, brake pedal locked, but of course the step still worked and only the step. I wondered if I had smoke checked something important. Eventually I did a voltage test. Accessory battery 12.3V main battery 5V. Argh really. It sat for 3 days while I was working on the suspension and its down to 5V? The only electrical I had touched was the FAD connector and the E-Locker connector. This can't be right. So after all my (weeks) of machinations I did this parasitic draw test. To say I am not please with this stupid lighted switch is an understatement. So now I am going to try and fix that. Hope this helps someone down the line.

Peace

@ZFG thanks for the mention! As good as Rock Slide Engineering products are, I can't believe they got the switch so wrong by designing it with the light always on...for multiple reasons. Battery drain being the biggest, but a lot of people also sleep in their jeeps when overlanding or camping and want total darkness, plus an annoying bright red glow when driving around.

I hear you!
UPDATE:

So I pulled the yellow wire (light) on the back of the RSE switch and did another parasitic draw test. Lots of fun waiting around for the Jeep to go to sleep ( 1hr+ to fully sleep) and sure enough even with my winch and the RSE steps connected I only got .012A draws so that was the problem. That stupid light. So either replace the switch or just disconnect the yellow wire and it seems to be golden. Hope this helps someone out there in the Jeeposphere.

Our 2020 JLUR keeps dying too. The driver's side doesn't go all the way up when it's cold out. When it activates to close, I apply upward pressure with my finger and it fully closes. But if I don't do that and leave it almost-but-not-quite closed... it will kill the battery overnight. I'm going to try to look into changing that switch out. So frustrating. Damn near ready to sell these and just put cheap fixed steps on it.

Am understanding correctly your switch to turn the steps on and off has a light in it? Because mine definitely does not. Maybe they fixed the problem. I purchased my steps last September.

Also had a problem with the steps not wanting to go all the way down. I now attach a Battery Tender when parked in the garage and the problem went away.
