The bushings on my RK Quick disconnects are starting to get shredded up. I was going to go online to buy some more to replace. They are $5 each so total of $20. I went to hit buy and shipping is $66. So to replace these I'd be out almost $87. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that's a bit much for shipping. You can fit 4 of these in a padded USPS envelope and send it for $5.

I guess I'm just looking for alternative options. The only place to buy these seems to be directly from Rock Krawler. Anyone know of a local shop in the LA area I could get these?

Yes! Awesome. My google skills had failed me.

Edit: It won't let me choose free shipping. It says cheapest is $14 which is at least better.
Maybe screen shot the page and call them and hold them to the free shipping?

Evidently my brain is done for the day. Somehow I read this as free shipping for an order over $10. Doh!

Ha also strange is that it isn't $10. The lowest option I get is $14.

I emailed Rock Krawler to ask if they would ship USPS or if they only do UPS for $66. I figured I'd give them a chance to respond on why they are charging so much to ship 4 rubber circles.

I'll bookmark this page though and I guess order from there eventually. I thought this was going to be just a cheap easy project but that never seems to happen.

Hopefully the weight and/or dimensions for those are wrong on RKs website and so shipping is being calculated incorrectly.

RK got back to me this morning. The shipping quote was incorrect. He said it's a glitch in their website that they are working to fix. He is going to get back to me with an actual shipping quote.

He did say they are are also available at Northridge 4x4, Summit Racing and Meyer Distribution however I could not find just the bushings at any of those sites.

@Northridge4x4 maybe you can help me out with this? I found the link to the Gen II disconnects but not the bushings. Jim from Rock Krawler says you should have the bushings in stock.

We do have plenty in stock. $9.99 flat rate shipping for an order under $70 or free over $70. I am getting the website fixed so these are listed, or you can give us a call to order 866-601-5340.

Ok great thanks! I'll give you guys a call then. I also need some of their grease plus I have a gift card to use.

Edit: Order placed! I also picked up some of the Molylube grease RK recommend for the bushings. All in was $50 that got covered by the gift card. 👍

RK should have given you free shipping for bringing the error to their attention…I know wishful thinking. Glad you got it figured out despite my lack of reading comprehension yesterday.

I got back home last night and had these waiting for me. The box was huge because each bushing had it's own box. Now I just need to get the motivation to grease these and replace all the old bushings.

This thread made me laugh because I went back and forth with RK a few months ago when I needed a replacement part for my disconnects..... We went back & forth, I emailed photos (twice) with the needed part circled and still got the wrong part in the mail. 😆 They were honestly wonderful to work with, all in all, but the process was definitely frustrating, since my Jeep was down in the meantime. Needless to say, I have them on speed dial now & have the email for the CS guy saved, ya know, just in case. LOL. & yes, I think every piece is packaged individually in those boxes, labeled, then put in a bigger box which is also labeled... You get the idea. 😂

Ha yeah I've had a few e-mails back and forth with the RK service rep. I was trying to get them to send me some new lynch pins because the old ones are bent. They were willing to sell some but told me they shipping would probably cost a lot so I was better off finding some anywhere else.

Interesting though that he told me the reason the pins bend is from offroading without disconnecting the swaybar but I never go offroad without disconnecting. So they have just bent from regular use.

Anyway, these are my old bushings:

Replaced with new ones, greased and re-installed. I used a vise to bend the pins back into a straight-ish line and have new ones on order.

Also another fun story about these... a few months ago I was getting estimates for shops to install balljoints and do some other work and they wanted $200 to push one bushing back in that was coming out of my quick disconnects. 😂
