I have an extreme recon Willy’s on order and will be adding the RK lift with 37s before I pick it up. I have an Artec Nighthawk stubby front bumper and a Warn Zeon 10s winch waiting to go on it as well. My question is for anyone with experience with this lift, with the weight of the bumper and winch, will the RK lift need a front leveling kit to keep it level, or is the RK lift stout enough to handle the extra weight? I will have the 37 spare on as well. I know AEV says their lift is engineered to handle the extra weight, can’t find anything on the RK lift that says the same.

The RK springs handle weight pretty well… my 6 year old springs for every 100 lbs, they drop 3/8” ish…. I’m not familiar with that bumper, but with my LOD bumper & winch I needed a 1/2” spacer…. No spacers needed in the rear with heavy 37 on beadlock spare….she sits pretty level….

I have the same lift kit but in 2.5” on my 2-door. I have a factory steel winch bumper with Warn 10s in the front & a 37” tire on a beadlock in the rear. I’m nearly level - maybe about a 1/4” rake, taller in the rear.

Do you still have a slight rake in the front, or is it just the angle of the ground? If it still has some rake I may need to go with a 3/4 inch front spacer.

There’s no rake, here’s different angle….

I wonder if the factory steel bumper weighs more than this Artec bumper. The Artec with the skid weighs about 90 lbs. Then on top of that will be the weight of the winch.

I don’t remember what mine weighs, but I think it was a bit lighter than that.

Edit: I looked up my bumper weight. 69 lbs for oem stubby bumper & skid. Not including winch plate…

Your post said you’re getting a XR, the XR comes with a rear raised track bar bracket on the axle, so you won’t need the rear track bar bracket in the kit….. also when you get your own shocks, RK doesn’t include bump stops. They only include them when you use their shocks…so you’ll have to buy them separately….Apologies if you already know this, but these are the two things that I run into when installing the RK kit for customers…anyway, just a heads up, that’s a great kit, you’ll like it….

I am aware of the rear track bar bracket and I bought the shocks with the kit so I should be good on the bump stops. They offered either the Bilsteins or the other shock option, I went with the Bilsteins. I’ll go through the boxes to make sure the bump stops are in there.
