JK gear and gadgets put these on their 3.6 gladiator and had 2 different coil packs fail over a period of time. They ended up taking them out and going back to stock.

That's the main story I hear. I had 3 fail out of 8 I had my hands on. Not something I would put in my Jeep. Back to stock and no issues. And those 3 failed within 1200 miles. My Jeep has 17k on stock coils no issues.

Heads up to anyone who comes across this, had these in my rig for about a year and then it started throwing codes (coil pack failure circuit a&b) on all six packs. Happened right around the time the warranty wore out. I'd steer clear of these.

Yeah I think this thread has helped people steer clear of these. I am at 31k miles, 30k on stock coils without any issues. The 1k I had with these ripp coil packs had several issues.

These coils are just a waste of money, they do nothing to increase performance, I had these coils and they went bad on me in 20k miles and ripp never even responded to me about a warranty. these are china made coils so figures they also work like shit
What did you end up replacing them with? Did you go back to OEM?

I would have not spent the money on the RIPP coils if I could go back. I thought it might be worth it if I got 1mpg gain or noticed some power increases but I haven't noticed anything really with the RIPP coils. Just my experience. Hopefully they last a long time or that would be even worse as changing them out is a PITA.
Are these coil packs still going strong? I have a bad one and am looking at replacing all 6. The OEM are $78 a piece plus shipping. So $300 for these is not bad as long as they function the same.

Do not buy the RIPP coil packs. I had 3 fail within 1300 miles. It was a pain in the ass to change them out 3-4 times within a month and they gave me the runaround for return. I'm at 42k miles on the stock coil packs without issues. I will only stay with oem coil packs.

10% HP increase from coil packs? Those sorts of claims are pretty dubious....
Gonna BET that yes it does provide and increase in power, but to take advantage of the added spark which higher Voltage increases the speed of the flame. But to take advantage of this requires you to run...wait for it...higher OCTANE!

The fact is, this is nothing new...even back in my racing days, we did the same, higher voltage distributor coils and things like Dual points etc.

Expect more HP/Torq but run 93 Octane...

A lot truth in that statement but the flip side of the coin for those who know and understand it gives you a bit something extra. That said the extra you get is worth it on the dragstrip and other racing circuits. For everyday driving on the street and or going to work, there is little to gain...
