Like the older postal-service Jeep DJ-5, the Grumman LLV features a right-handed driver's position, in contrast to the typical left-hand drive position of vehicles in North America. It also features a large metal tray, which is able to hold three trays of letter mail, mounted where a passenger seat would normally be. This arrangement positions the driver on the side of the vehicle closest to the curb, enabling the carrier to easily grab sorted mail and place it into mailboxes without having to leave the seat

Here's what my Cherokee looks like on the inside. I usually have 6 to 8 trays (2 foot long) and small packages in the space where the left front seat would be. The back seat and cargo area get filled to the ceiling with additional small packages, boxes of dog food, paper towels, and other huge Amazon boxes. Most days I barely have room to drive.

Amazon has starting rolling out its own delivery service. Has this started to impact your volumes yet? Investors have been monitoring Fedex to see how this change will affect their revenues going forward.

I believe the Amazon delivery people are also independent contractors who own their own vehicles.

amazom hasnt impacted us yet. there are amazon vans around me and they are a pain in the butt.

I don't forsee Amazon having their own delivery drivers in my area. The truck drivers that drop pallets of Amazon at our post office take at least 5 or 6 tries to back up to the dock. Pallets of packages are lopsided and often too tall to fit through our loading dock doors. We get pallets of parcels for other cities, and they usually don't arrive on time. With the quality of personnel that Amazon hires to drive their truckloads, I wouldn't trust their judgement on hiring or contracting house-to-house delivery.
