Hi again.
I went from 33“ BFGs to 37” Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

How do the Nittos compare to the BFGs in the rain?

Some roads they feel like any other tire I’ve ever had, some roads they feel like they are stickier (if that’s even a thing).
I’m running them at 30-32 psi.

What’s your opinion on these two different tires and how they handle in the rain?

….obviously still getting used to 37’s

I ran them on my F250 and they were so so in the rain, they didn't like standing water at all, they were actually better in the snow than I would've thought

I’m running Ridge Grapplers and my wet traction is pretty good in my opinion. I love them so far.

Guessing it’s just getting used to the bigger tire and learning it’s responses in different conditions.

get used to braking earlier than before.. it takes a while to stop 37s esp on wet roads. Watch for some gotcha moments in lateral grip - wet, raining and changing lanes at high speed... R/T tires dont do well in that situation esp when its cold

I just switched from 35” BFG KM3s to 37” Ridge Grapplers almost 2 weeks ago. I’m in a 2-door BTW. Been raining like crazy again here in the PNW. Yesterday, there was massive standing water everywhere on my commute home.
I haven’t noticed any difference in wet traction between the 2 tires. (The BFGs had less than 10,000 miles on them; versus brand new Grapplers). They both have been great!
Hitting standing water was also about the same, to me - wanted to have 2 hands on the steering wheel. Also not much difference from my 35” Coopers that I am running on my Tacoma. The 12.5” width on all of these hitting standing water, makes one pay extra attention!

Not on a Jeep, but ran 2 sets of BFG AT's back-to-back on my previous full-size truck and thought they did good in the rain. On my newer truck my third set of tires were Ridge Grappler. I think they have fairly poor wet weather traction and actually have to be cautious going around corners in town or where there are a lot of cars as the rear end will easily slide out. I was surprised how they did in the snow and slick roads.....generally when a tire doesn't do good on wet roads they don't do good in the snow and ice.

On my old truck it ran the OEM pure street tread tires, a couple sets of Interco Trxus MT (mud) tires, Dick Cepek FC-II (one of the original "hybrid" treads), and 2 sets of BFG AT's. My current truck has had Goodyear Duratracs, Falken MT's, and now Ridge Grapplers. I would rate the Ridge Grapplers as the worst performing wet pavement tire out of all of them.
