Hey all, I have a 2 door JL with a freedom hard top and in the summers I like to only use the front two panels to keep the sun out of my eyes. The issue is I hate to park it with half the car open to the public or overnight with spiders crawling in, are there any solutions to this? I don’t mind trying a soft top but I like having the front covered and the back open, and everything out there is the opposite. I need a reverse Sunrider top or maybe an easily removable half cover that I can put on when I’m parked. Thanks!

If you’re looking for something where the top is covered but back and sides are open, it sounds like you’re describing the besttop trek top with the windows out https://www.bestop.com/products/trektop-slantback-soft-top-jeep-2018-2022-wrangler-jl/

You’d have to put in windows to close in the sides and back, but you can run it safari style to have the top enclosed while the back and sides are open

Check out Bestop Duster + Windjammer. Basically a half cab, may leave room open behind the sunrider though.

Another option, we have a Trail Gear Oasis (formerly my wet willy) as an emergency cover when we're naked.

Diabolical Inc. Slipstream is great for keeping items secure. Not cheap, but really good stuff.

This might not be of great help to you, but I leave my 2-door soft top with side windows and rear window removed from April-October. This way on all my drives I just have to put the top down/up, and be on the way. The debris of city living plus off-roading trips are probably what deters anyone from taking advantage...

My only complaint is I wish the jack and tire iron compartment had some drain holes. If it wasn't leased I'd drill my own. After a nice rain it sloshes around with water several days.

This is the way I ran it this summer and it has been fantastic. Plenty of air flow, but no problems with the sun beating down. The tonneau keeps cargo covered and in place and it's easy to flip up and out of the way if you're hauling something taller.
