81K miles alot of adventures and memories...on a side note how has the skyone touch held up over those miles?
Had to replace it a few months ago, thankfully i got the extended warranty. I love it but it doesn't like being flexed and it certainly doesn't like mud. If the new one fails I'll just put a soft top on.

5 would be just weird LOL. Can’t wait to see where you take old gray mare 👍🏻
The only thing I'm planning it a bumper and winch, which i need for work. The rest of the Jeep is good to go. I'm not going down that rabbit hole again. lol

It’s a sad day for me, but I’ve decided to retire old orangey from daily driver status. He has just over 81,000 miles and the modifications I've done along the way are starting to have problems. Recently had to replace the SOT, replace an Adams driveshaft, need to replace all the bushings on the Rock Krawler arms, etc. These aren't major issues and certainly I can continue to maintain it, but i have grown weary. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that i have designated old orangey as a toy...which really sucks.

I have wrestled a controlling interest in my wife's 2020 JLUR, "the old gray mare" (the jeep not the wife), away from her and now that will become my DD. All it took was me buying her a new Grand Indigenous People, Long. We though about getting her another Wrangler, but since we already have 4 we figured 5 would be weird. (Four is normal, but 5 is weird.)

All BS aside, this is pretty emotional for me. I love old orangey and we have been through some shit. A ton of wheeling all over this great nation and he has never let me down. After he took me up Hell's Gate without a spotter (or a fucking clue), I actually gave him a hug. I firmly believe that Jeeps have personalities and i feel like old orangey is more like a horse and less like a vehicle. I know him, he knows me...

Luckily, I won't need to sell him and will soon start the process of long-arm suspension and other ridiculous mods to make him a better crawler. But i will certainly miss driving him everyday. Here are some pics, kind of in order.

PS-I'm never selling him

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. After reading where My Jelly himself (Roky) used the Jelly word really makes my DAY. You wrestled your wife's Jeep from her to use as your DD must be nice. My wife basically took my Sahara and said tough S---t. Hence leading to my retirement Rubicon. Little did she suspect that laid right into my plan. I wanted my Rubicon next so it worked out. Take care with your DD now.

Where here in Texas were you ????

I think that pic was Hardin County, AKA "The Fatherland". My family lived there from 1837 until i was born in Louisiana. I ended the streak

I had to google Hardin Co. The Piney woods of East Texas. I lived in Tyler for few months why back in 1975. Nice countryside. Does have the red clay dirt. Nasty stuff. lol

I love how a 2019 with 81k is considered “old” on this forum 🤦🏻‍♂️

Freekin weird but I swear this is a true story:

I bought my TJ new in 1999, the morning I was delivering it to the girl that purchased it at the license bureau, it wouldn't start for the first time ever, like the Jeep didn't recognize the key. I had to use the second key and it started right up. Upon firing it up I turned-on the radio...Believe it or not, a song was starting to play from the beginning, , as if I chose it on the CD player but it was the radio.... ''Please don't go'' by the sunshine band... this was 2007, and this song dates from the late 70's !!!!!

Still get shivers down my spine when I think of that moment.
