I wish I would have noticed this earlier and asked my dealer. Even better, I wish my dealer would have pointed it out to me and explained it!

Finally placed my order for a 23 JLU Willys after much research and patience waiting for the packages I wanted to be available. I received the POC and VON from the dealer, and now I've got the VIN from the Jeep tracker page.

But only now am I noticing this line on my POC saying the Willys package is restricted! I searched the whole forum but couldn't find any particular discussion of this highlighted restriction line on a POC. Any insight or experience here? Could it be that the Willys package is unavailable but they placed the order anyway? In which case I'd cancel immediately because that's the most important part of my order. Or maybe that means something completely different and less ominous. Anyone know?

I just assumed it was highlighted because it's the major package I've selected, but only now did I look down and see "= Restriction". :(

When I was preparing to order back in December and got the same build sheet format as a quote from my dealer, it had one or two restriction lines on it. I inquired and was told that I could still order it like that, but it might take a little longer because of the restriction. It was a couple of weeks later when I actually placed my order and by that time the restriction was gone. I don’t think restriction means you can’t get it. I think it just means unavailable temporarily. My Jeep is supposed to be in production this weekend (ordered 12/30).

Mine actually had a restriction on the 2.0L engine - which was described as just a potential delay. Did not delay it a lot. Ordered Oct 30 and picked it up Jan 31.

I had the same restriction for the 25W package on my Willys. I'm on day 65 with no progress beyond C/D with my VIN.
I was set for a 3~4 month delay. It looks like that may be the case.

I placed an order for the Willys on 2/7/23 with the same restriction. I was told that the restriction was temporary with no known timeframe. I got a scheduled for production update on 2/16/23. I guess I got lucky, but won’t know for sure until they actually build it.

I have. Just waiting on a reply. I'm guessing they'll say they think it's temporary. Just would have been nice to have been informed of that before finalizing the order.

Good to know. That gives me hope! I'll be curious to hear how your build proceeds.

I suspect the 2.0L engines are in short supply for anything other than the 4Xe. It's a slightly different version of the engine, but the guts are the same. In December when I was shopping there were lots more V6's available than 2.0's except in the 4Xe.

If it helps your feelings at all, even if there were no restrictions at the time of order, they can still pop up and cause a delay. My order had no restrictions and was scheduled to be built on 2/11 but it got pushed back, probably for some tiny component that wasn't available on the scheduled build date. It's just part of the process.

How do they pick what order to pull and what one to skip. I ordered a 4 door Willy’s sport with manual trans on 1-23-23 and still no schedule date. It just sits in accepted stage and I wait.

If this is what you really want… I’d keep the order in. I don’t see anything good will come by canceling. Price could go up, build time could take even longer. Your delivery date won’t be sooner from what it is now. It sounds like you have been patient so far… now the days will just seem longer because of the anticipation.

Now you get to spend your time researching possible mods/accessories you might want. Good luck!

I have no clue. I was not expecting that email and status change. My build is pretty simple. Punk'n with Willy's 22W, 2.0L, auto and dual top. Not sure what in the 22W package made it restricted at the time of order.
