**Engine started. I did a lot more reading. I reconnected the negative terminal from the main battery I had wrapped and tied off. Auxiliary battery is still sitting on the ground. The two aux battery terminals are taped and tied in a way they cannot make contact. Fuse 42 is out. I will finish what I was doing (tire rotation / greasing) and then see how it does.

Hello,

2024 JLR 2.0L. Not hybrid. Today I removed the AUX battery, wrapped up the leads, and removed fuse 42. Dash, radio, Aux switches all light up. When I depress the brake pedal and push the start button, one quick click and the dash resets. There are SOOO many posts in various places about the aux battery delete, other than removing the battery I'm unsure what is wrong. Connected to the vehicle, main battery reads 12.5V.

Thanks in advance for your help as it is a long walk to work tomorrow.

I left the positive lead to aux battery connected (actually, I only removed the negative lead from the primary battery and left the aux battery in place). Also, check connections, then put a volt meter across battery and read when pushing Start button. 12.5 volts at rest doesn't mean the battery is good (sounds like it was cranking on the aux.).

Once I finished up I took it out for a test drive. Battery voltage has never read 14.4 V but it does now. No lights on the dash. I do have a Tazer hooked up to keep ESS off.
