Hi, I have a 2011 Wrangler sport unlimited. I've had it for 2 years but recently I've been having problems getting it to turn over. I was on here looking for a solution but the closest thing I found was to change my ignition switch. I have seen in another forum that I can start it by pushing the gas and quickly pushing the brakes, it would work but I feel like its hurting my truck. It usually would only happen after sitting in the sun for a while but now it doesn't want to turn on. My starter and alternator have been changed with the last 3 months so I didn't think they were part of the problem. It makes a loud clicking sound but doesn't turn over, as well as all of the light coming on. Please if anyone has had the same problem or you know what I can fix to improve it. Any advice will help

Clicking sounds like a dead battery, not enough amperage for the starter but enough to activate the solenoid. I hope that helps. I would also recommend checking with a JK forum (this is JL), this may be a common problem with a JK that they can answer over there.

Pushing the gas and then brake makes the engine start? Not understanding that part. Could be one of many electrical issues from the info provided, but the gas/brake thing has me confused.

This forum is for wrangler jl, yours is a jk. May be better to find a jk forum.

Dead Battery. Also change the secondary Battery as well. Sounds like a total battery failure. Replace both or the other badone will decrease the life of the new battery. Sorry...

Jk uses a key. Get a new ignition switch, then take that giant cluster of heavy keys and assorted junk off of your ignition key. The weight of that stuff swinging around prematurely wears ignition switches, and causes the exact symptoms you describe.
