I have the Mopar lift kit on my JL. Would it be ok to replace out the coils but keep the Fox shocks in? I want to lower the Jeep a bit. It basically gave me 4 inches of lift where I only wanted 2 inches. Would it be an issue if I do this?

EDIT: Would this also be an issue with the control arms that came with the mopar kit?

It depends how long they are at full compression. You should change them If they are too long at full compression. When too long at full compression there are two negative side affects. You'll have reduced articulation when stuffing a wheel. And you could bottom out the shock before you hit your bump stop. That is a good way to damage the shock. You could add bump stop to prevent the shock from bottoming out, but that will just further reduce articulation.

Park on a flat surface and measure the the shock eye to eye mounts. Subtract 2inches or whatever you wanna lower your jeep to.

Then find out how long your shocks are when fully compressed. You wanna have enough shock length.

I forget what the goldilocks rule is but I think you want about 50% extension when on a flat surface for ideal riding conditions. I dont remember if it is 30 or 50%. There is a sticky somewhere on these forums.

If the Kit was just installed, be patient, it will settle.

It was installed 4 years ago lol
Specs for the Mopar FOX 2.5

17.50 collapsed and 26.25 extended on front
19.25 collapsed and 28.50 extended for the rear.

Rubicon shocks
Front 15.75 -> 23.625
Rear 17.5 -> 26.0

So if you lower your Jeep you need to keep the bump stop extensions that are installed unless you get shorter shocks.

You can leave the Mopar front LCAs installed.
