Better check your local laws before you go subverting the remote start. An unattended vehicle left running is against the law in many places. The law is intended to prevent vehicle thefts. Remote start with a locked vehicle is legal.

….,,Jump in, foot on the brake and push the button. Unless you’re in a Ford. Then you’ll need to take out your phone and call in the tow truck.

Your giving a lot of credit about the Ford. We all know it would most likely be at the dealer for repairs already. ?

Remote started jeep (and just about all other vehicles) require the fob and a repush of the engine start button to drive off.

If a wrangler is remote started you could break the window, get inside the running Jeep and it isn’t going anywhere without the fob.

Wasn't faulting Jeep's application of the remote start with key fob protection. It's the local law that may not have had that in mind and be too broad in its "no you can't do that, here's your fine" approach. Our local law was adjusted to include protection for the newer OEM remote starts.

Yeah we have that law also. Annoying, but not easy to enforce really with our cold mornings in the winter. Still annoying though people need to warm their cars up. Majority do including the police officer few doors down that brings his cruiser home :)

Haha but with that said, auto-start with doors off is head-scratcher just for me!

Ill just leave this right here. Today I had to chase down a broken wire in my left rear door that was causing my jeep to act like the door wasn’t there, hence no remote start. Well I jump the two smaller wires the ones circled in the pic and on the radio or showed my door on the jeep, present and closed, hit the remote start button and the Jeep remote started! Yay, a win for the people. Now I just need to get a hold of some door harnesses to make some jump plugs, and still need to figure out the front plugs.

So I have the back door solved, just jump pins 6 and 7 and the Jeep will think the dorrs are closed and locked. The problem becomes the fronts. Obviously pins 18 (Door Sense and Ajar Sense 12v +) and 17 (I guessing the return for 18) will need to be jumped, but that is only half the story, as the Jeep will see the doors on and closed, just like the back doors, but for remote start to work you also need the doors to lock, hence that now brings pin 5 into the fray. My fix for that is to jump to pin 17 which should close the circut and tell the Jeep that the doors are locked. I'm sure that would fix the right front door and allow remote start with the rears, and the right front removed. No on to that pesky front drivers door. Do the same as you would for the right front Jump pin 5 to 17 as well as jumping 17 and 18 together, but WTF to do with pin 6 the Secondary Door Ajar Sense. Well tomorrow I plan on ripping my harness out of my drivers door and playing with it to see if I can get the jeep to Remote start by either connecting it to pin 17 the sense return, or to ground as I have a strong feeling that it just grounds out when the door is closed which is a simple computer free way to tell if the door is closed or not. I'll let you all know if I burn anything down and will include pics if I do. I could really use a new 2024 Willy's, lol.

My remote start is not working, it saying “remote start canceled, door open”. I brought it to the dealership and they said it needs a new rear driver door sensor that is $350 and they have no idea when they can get that part…

So I’m looking to bypass the sensor . You said you jumped those two wires? I unpinned them from the wire harness and connected them together. I’m still getting the same message “remote start canceled, door opened” and it won’t start. Not sure what I’m doing wrong?

It's the latch assembly. Stop jacking with your wiring.

My remote start stopped working because a wire in the door harness was broken, so I had to strip the wire and reconnect it. If you are attempting to “jump” the too wires together, I don’t want to sound harsh when I ask this, but are you “jumping them together at the connector the is in the jeep, under the panel, the connector that the jeep plugs into. On my Jeep it work for the rear doors just fine, however the front doors have a little bit more going on, and I haven’t quite sorted that part out yet.

So I connected them at the Jeep side before the connector. It’s not doing anything, still same message. I was told yes it was the door latch assembly that needed to be replaced but they can’t get the actual part in for it so I’d like to bypass the rear doors all together so I can get the remote start to work in the mean time. I’m from Canada and it’s starting to get colder lol of course the only time I use the remote start…

I have attached pictures of what I did. Let me know if I’m doing something wrong here . Thanks
