Kinda pointless though to have the OBDll scan tool, have paid for JSCAN and.... and all you can do is read the code(s).Cheap Bluetooth vLinker MC+ and JScan app. Works great. The gateway bypass is only needed to clear codes and write setting changes. I can read just fine without one installed.
Better way to go is with a dedicated security gateway bypass module. Yes, will cost you $10 more then old school, Chrysler 12+8 cable but for multiple reasons a better way to go.after tax in Canadian dollars, USD -25%
chrysler 12+8 cable $20
V-gate icar pro bluetooth 3.0 $28 (this only work with android)
jscan license $30
this is good for checking all the data and making adjustment
I have got hood alarm working, tone down the auto headlight sensitivity, configured LEDs and light dropout behavior.
Thing is I did not even know the product existing lol. I'm not changing the vehicle settings everyday, After im happy with it, I will plug the sgw back and use the regular obd port.Better way to go is with a dedicated security gateway bypass module. My post was aimed at guys/gals that will be buying hardware for use with JSCAN.Thing is I did not even know the product existing lol. I'm not changing the vehicle settings everyday, After im happy with it, I will plug the sgw back and use the regular obd port.
Tbh my cable management is pretty good, there is that metal bar below the steering wheel right, I looped the 12 8 cable over it and put on the trim piece and the cable is locked in place and not dangling , i can plug in things into the bypass with one hand too.
OK…I just got these for the JScan…do I need anything else?My post was aimed at guys/gals that will be buying hardware for use with JSCAN.
Just trying to encourage them to buy hardware that does the job ... does it best lets say and also hardware that is easily resold in the future..
In regard to the dedicated security gateway bypass module... You hook that to a security gateway extension cable and then you have easy access to the ends so you can plug in your hardware.
Trivia: The Polish guy, Piotr Bialic that brings us JSCAN, told me he uses a dedicated security gateway module and not a Chrylser 12+8 Cable.
Why the bbflyobd extension cable... The OBDll port is right there.... as in easy access... and the scan tool is Bluetooth enabled.OK…I just got these for the JScan…do I need anything else?

It actually came with the OBDLink MX+ and was actually surprised when I opened the package…got it from EBay.Why the bbflyobd extension cable...
The two cables you disconnect from the security gateway plug into the ECRI dedicated bypass module. The OBDLink scan tool plugs into the OBDll port.Just bought…so what gets connected to what to use the JScan?
