Recommend a product to clean engine bay

You really should not use Simple Green or any of its variations on your aluminum engine, transmission or transfer case, due to the high alkaline content causing corrosion. Soon your engine etc will be green with corrosion. I know. I used it on several engines for years.

The exception is Simple Green Aircraft cleaner, which is aluminum safe. It costs more but isn't corrosive.

For mud and regular muck. Car wash wand soap soak then rinse keeping high pressure to a minimum near critical areas.

Caked on grease/oil I have always found purple power to be great. I use it sparingly and let it sit on caked up areas for a few minutes then wash with clean water. Good luck!

Read the label on your cleaner. Make sure it is safe for aluminum.

Also if you go to a self high pressure wash the soaps are high alkaline and will corrode aluminum especially if you spray it on a hot engine. Always clean the engine dead cold.

Don’t use dish detergent on your paint. It will strip the paint. Use special car wash cleaner manufactured strictly to wash your vehicle.

Sure to let it soak but you will want to hose it to get the gunk truly out of the crevices and out of the bay.

BTW... Dawn will not hurt the engine bay or the paint. Very popular product inside and out.

Dawn is non abrasive and often the choice to wash cars. No need for higher priced 'special' cleaners.
