Spray a soapy mixture that cuts grease/oils and let it soak (Dawn dish soap actually works surprising well if you already have it on hand). Spray water (not high pressure) rinse. Start your engine and let it run/dry your bay. Repeat if necessary. Then if still dirty, elbow grease, ugh!

Lot’s of fancy cleaner/degreaser brands but you aren’t getting much more for the money other than maybe more caustic solutions not great for the environment. Simply Green is equivalent to Dawn in my experience.

Wow, let me try it. Thanks!

You ca. most certainly use a pressure washer to clean it as it actually uses less water than a garden hose. You just don’t want to be right up on the engine with the pressure washer nozzle. Cover the alternator with a bag.. everything else should be fine. After your done cleaning use a blower or air compressor to blow the water off. Detailed cars for many years professionally.

Less water yes… high pressure getting into places you don’t need to clean and could cause electrical issues later... don’t need to risk it.

That said, I have used a pressure washer for certain discreet areas but I don’t recommend it as the default, especially if you aren’t careful with your aim.

I go offroad a lot and I don't want the engine bay get dirty to the point where it will be very difficult to clean. So I want to clean it regularly. I got these two tools and they should be very helpful to remove the dust, spray and dry.

I met a 392 on the trail and I don't want to end up with such an engine bay.

Muhammad… you are on the right track in regular cleaning before oils and dirt start caking and building up in the crevices. When it is wet, high pressure air does a good job blowing out the gunk without blasting too much water. Just be careful around electrical connections.

I am thinking of covering electrical stuff and alternator with plastic bags and then spray the rest. Can water go inside the engine, does engine have any pores or anything, and what about water getting inside spark plugs? Thanks

Jeeping is a full-time job. Now during the winter wheeling I will be busy cleaning my undercarriage

No, water can’t go inside the engine. That would be bad..lol..as for the spark plugs, they should be sealed from water getting in.. just don’t pour water or put the hose directly on them .. if you have the option ,mist around them.. all other connections should have water seals to prevent water from getting in.

Can you recommend a product, a spray that will keep the Plastics shiny. I want my fenders and other black plastic around the Jeep and in the engine bay shiny. My plastic parts are starting to look crappy

I use black on black instant shine from chemical guys. Brings it back to a factory black without the greasy feel
