I’m sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but my search seemed to yield relocation of the plate to the spare or spare tire delete.

I have the OEM plastic rear bumper, looking to go with Rusty’s full-length. However, I usually travel with a trasharoo type bag mounted on the spare to make room for my dogs in the cargo area.

I’ve seen Quadretech has one and others that are proprietary to the bumper.

advice, thoughts and/or pics greatly appreciated! Happy Wheeling!

I have a full width LOD rear bumper with their tag relocation bracket bolted on the top left of the bumper. It resembles a factory JK tag location. I'll get a picture of it and post it.

I have the same on my bumper. I tried to find something comparable for the OP in the aftermarket, but couldn't find one that quite fit the bill. The other issue is the light (at least in certain states) needs to be relocated as well. This was easy to wire in without losing the factory harness. Just a plug snip, shorten, and reconnect.
There are lots of brackets out there that could be "made to work" though. I'll try to upload a photo when I get to the Jeep.

Sounds like you need something like the LOD which mounts similar to the JK did. Only problem is if you wheel that sticks out even further than the taillamp and will for sure be snapped off after a couple of trail runs this summer.

I'd look at something that mounts higher on the tire to give you room for your trasharoo. There are some options on Amazon that use the 2 upper bolts on the spare tire carrier that raises it up. Rough Country has one that does it as well, but is double the cost.

I did a receiver hitch mount. It’s a sturdy chunk of steel that will take the first hit if someone rear ends me. Had to light it so I got a led light for it from the Q store.

Thanks - I hadn’t seen the top-of-spare option.

I have the factory hitch and actuallytow about 2k lbs; I see the LOD has the receiver but I consider bumper pulls sketchy - wondering if they’d delete it? It’s a good looking bumper and gives some clearance.

It's fully bolted into the frame in the middle exactly like the factory hitches and aftermarket hitches made for a JL. I would dare to say it's stronger than any factory JL hitch.

Looking at an arcus rear bumper and wondering about options too. Seen a few brackets that are ok. My biggest question is how or did you even relocate the lighting for the license plate?

@Martial Fartist @COKENOGOOD

The items below are what I purchased. Total was about $30 in material versus $80+ for most other kits. I don't like to spend money unnecessarily if there is any way I can get the same results for less. This will work for any wheels that have an opening at the top since the bracket just goes behind the top 2 spare lugs. It does tilt it out ever so slightly so I'd recommend adding a washer to the bottom one to keep it level. But that is getting super picky.

The LED's for the plate are wired directly into the factory license plate lights. They were soldered together and into the plug and then all remaining connections soldered and heat shrinking as well. The wiring runs down through the tailgate and the wire bundle into the body and then across to the factory wiring. I put the waterproof plug behind the plate so it can be unbolted and unplugged for spare tire access. It is offset in the photo so it goes around the brackets and gives a little extra wiring than needed.
