All,
I slid off a big rock, caught the rear fender and tore half of it off. Bummer.
Got home, took the fender Linder out. Tore the rest of the fender off. While doing the last clip I dropped the fender, scratching it.
No big deal, I'll wrap it! Ordered the clips and some carbon fiber wrap from Amazon. I got it all cleaned up but I can't figure out how to remove the painted part (color matched fenders) from the trim. What looks like trim is actually more like the fender itself. It looks like tabs from one piece to the other but I don't see how they assembled the two piece to start with.
Has anyone taken these two pieces apart and how did you do it?

Skip to about the 7 minute mark and see if this is the info you need. If not, maybe post some pics of what you’re describing.

Thanks for the reply. The fenders are off. Trying to remove the fender trim from the fender so I can wrap and reassemble. I'll see if I can take a picture tomorrow when the sun comes up.

The underside of the fender is bonded to the top side of the fender. The two pieces are fused together. But I should probably wait for your pic so I’m clear on what you mean.

Well that would put a damper on wrapping it to hide the scratches.

I know there’s folks here with wraps….Iā€˜ll plead ignorance on the wrap process

It does look like the painted piece is pressed or glued to the black fender / trim. Here's a couple of picture of the inside of the fender:

I can put these back on like they are. Battle scars.
I couldn't find replacement fenders on the Mopar site. Anyone have a service manual with a schematic? This page has the black fenders: https://www.allmoparparts.com/part-ymm/2022-jeep-wrangler-jl-wheel-flare.html
But maybe a set of satin black fenders are the way to go...
