With just over a month of ownership, there is a very noticeable rattling noise coming from the middle of my dash, seemingly out of the defroster vent. It sounds like a loose piece of plastic rolling around somewhere in the plenum, and occurs when driving even over the smallest bumps in the road....which is annoying as hell.
I looked through the windshield into the visible section of the plenum that runs along the dash, and it appears to be clear of any debris. So....suspecting that the object may be located deeper, I attached a 4-foot-long, 3/8" diameter hose to the end of my shop vac, which I plan to feed down into the plenum. Before embarking on this mission, I thought it would be a good idea to see if anyone here has experienced this problem, or if there's a chance I could damage the A/C system with my vacuum contraption. Sure, I could start tearing my dashboard apart, but at this point, I'd prefer to avoid all that if I can just remove it this way. Appreciate any recommendations or advice, and thanks in advance!
