We have a 2022 Wrangler Rubicon 4XE. When I went to the dealer to get a second key programed and they informed me that there was a pending RSU for the battery control module. At no point was I notified by Jeep and the RSU didn't appear on the Jeep app or website for the vehicles VIN. Apparently only recalls are shown on the Jeep app or website not RSUs. I questioned the service department and they informed me that I can call periodically and they can tell me or the RSU will be performed when I bring the vehicle in for routine maintenance. I only drive about 6000 miles a year and I change the oil myself, so the chance of taking the vehicle in for anything is pretty slim. Any thoughts?

It's like how it's always been with auto manufacturers. Historically it's been TSB Technical Service Bulletins - they're not published publicly. Remember this is an old industry, and they've never been one to jump up and say, "hey, we did this wrong in your old car, here's a fix to make it better." Only legislative mandates have forced them to publish safety recall notices.

Notably Tesla changed this paradigm, continually pushing new software features and capabilities to their cars. Of course they also have charged for promised FSD updates and not delivered.

As far as our software updates go, I too got a couple when I went in last week for my last Jeep Wave oil change, and latching electric mode now works. I guess that's a reason to keep going into the dealership for service, but at this point I don't plan to go back unless something goes wrong...
