Hi-

How prevalent is this issue of the radio losing power? I have a 2018 Sport JL. This September I had a few issues, first the radio lost power and came back after 2-3 seconds with the clock reset at 12:00. A few days later the backup camera lost power as I was going down my driveway. A few days after that the radio and instruments went black on the road at night. I brought the car back to the dealership and they updated the software because they couldn't find anything.

The Jeeps been fine for 3 months until today when the radio lost power again for several seconds and reset the clock. Its going back to the dealer for a checkup Monday, but anyone have this issue and have a solution?

Thanks,

Same problem with the radio - no solution though. It defiantly seems like the main power to it drops out like the circuit breaker is tripping and resetting. Happens every 1-2 months for me.

Was this issue every figured out or resolved? I've had a similar issue start, but it seems to have a few other complications:

First issues started with an friends Apple iPhone was plugged in playing Spotify. First time was fine, a week later the entire radio unit froze up. All the dash buttons failed. Radio was on the same song and same volume level and nothing could be changed. I pulled the battery cables and that seemed to fix it.

I run a harddrive with about 12000 songs on it, my rock remedy :) Once the lock up occurred, this HDD stopped replaying correctly. It will not hang or reset every few minutes. I've copied the drive to check it wasn't a hardware issue on the drive, but that didn't help. I'm assuming some file maybe corrupted.

Net Net is that I think my Jeep got a virus from that foreign iPhone. That corrupted my original hard drive. Now I'm stuck not having the radio unit "see" most music on hard drives that plug in an work in other cars with Apple Play.

If i unplug the hard drive from the center console USB, all works as normal.

(note: I've tried 3 HDDs, all the Jeeps USB ports, and even a solid state USB memory stick- which the Jeep wont even recognize music on it)

Thanks for any shared tips or issues related!
