I had a similiar issue with spotify a week ago. I called uconnect and they helped. Ended up clearing data and cache in android auto and spotify and reinstalling. Seems to working now. I'd recommend calling uconnect.

It's it an old iPod? Seems like something Apple would do to drive you to buy a new device.

Could be Apple. It is older but it recognizes my iPhone 6.

It does suck that they don't inform us the consumers of the changes, all companies tell you what is changing as far as services provided. However, I definitely can see this happening, it is no different than Apple/Androids not updating software for older model phones/tablets. They have been doing this for along time. I understand your frustration as I am one of the rare individuals that only purchase a new phone when the current one breaks. Companies aren't going to spend the money/time developing software updates for a small fraction of a percent of their consumers. Honestly, it should be expected when using older devices (if its a new IPOD I would be upset), it's kinda like complaining that there isn't a CD/tape player slot, which I would love to have a CD slot . Driving in the mountain's suck for FM radio signal, Cell Phone signal is to spotty for app based services and XM isn't my favorite source of music (to repetitive).

was at dealer Friday doing oil, tire, and the upgrade/recall.
They need to find a better way to install this upgrade. It took close to 1-1/2 hr. to install. They do it online and it is slow as molasses. Took less time to buy the car than it took to get out of the dealership yesterday. Total time spent was 2.5 hrs. Still haven’t checked my ipod, CD player and the usb inputs to be sure their working.
No big deal, I drank all their coffee, fixed their TV, had a great conversation with the service writer about the
electronic steering reset, showed the sales person how a sunrider operates. I expect a paycheck to be mailed to me for all my work.

Just went out and checked mine. It will connect via bluetooth, steering wheel controls change tracks as does the 8.4 display, just cant browse tracks and play lists on the 8.4 screen.

That's why I did the software upgrade in my garage, had no other reason to go to a dealer and it's 60+ miles from home to any dealer location. It went well and took about 30 minutes, didn't even have to start the Jeep.
