Radio cable extension

I deleted my radio antenna mast. I am wanting to put an extension cable where I unplugged it. Has anyone put an extension cable on to re route the antenna up into the cowl or elsewhere on the Jeep?

are these cables universal? I saw a cable extension but it was a GM part and it looks like it would plug in, but I would like other peoples experience in this, if anyone has any.

If I had to guess, as long as it's the same style of Fakra connector it should work. That being said, an external antenna always works better than one stashed within the body.
