Anyone have experience doing a pressure test on the 3.6 eTorque engine cooling system? I'm worried I have a leak -- no visible spots or drips, tho -- so I want to do a pressure test.

Harbor Freight has the Pittsburgh kit and a more expensive Maddox kit. Do those have adapters to fit the Jeep reservoir bottle?

The radiator bottle is not air tight. The pressure test needs to be directly on the radiator. And if you don’t already see drips or build up do you think you will find them when you pressurize the system?

with most leaks you need them to be bad enough to find them. Why do you think you have a leak?

No, wrong.

I’m not a huge Harbor Freight fan, but I do have the Maddox radiator test kit - it works well. Get the universal adaptor kit, it also works well and saves you from buying a ton of fittings as you would have to do with a Stant or similar. Stants are well built, but the Maddox works well for the DIY person.

So you're recommending this kit, plus the Maddox kit? Does the Maddox kit not have a Jeep-compatible adapter in it already? Why do you recommend the Maddox kit over the Pittsburgh kit?

The Maddox tester looked like better quality, probably made by same OEM as some other brands. Yes, that adapter kit. I didn’t buy the adapter kit for the Jeep and haven’t used the tester on the Jeep, sonot sure if you need it or not.
