For the life of me I cannot get the bloody gremlin.... Hoping somebody may be able to help somehow.
So:
1. Droped the Jeep ('18 2.2D EUR JLUR) at a renowned french "preparateur" for 2nd fuel tank and AUX switches installation. The car was left w/ batts topped up and OK, no issues whatsoever.
2. Got the car back one week later to find the radiator fan ALWAYS ON. So always on means exactly that, independently if AC is on or off, hot or cold outside...once I start the engine in the morning it starts spooling up.
3. Recharged both batteries - they don't seem to be bad, at least according to JSCan Live Data readings. Couldn't get a multimeter to them yet though...
I attach the PCM and BCM live data for temperatures and voltages.
The only thing suspicious I see is the IBS - which seems fried, and thus I get the corresponding DTC + the default battery temperature value.
Error codes reported by JSCan in PCM / BCM / Generic:
----------------//-------------------
VIN: 1C4HJXFU6JWxxxxxx
Platform: JL
Date: 17/11/2024
------------------------------
GENERIC
------------------------------
#P0480
cooling fan 1 control
active
=> This is obvious...PCM requests fan ON, but why?! Which criteria/surveillance sets this DTC? Can't find this information....
------------------------------
BODY CONTROLLER
------------------------------
#U113E-00
lost communication with intelligent battery sensor ""a""-
lost communication with intelligent battery sensor-
active
=> Network comm issue, bad sensor or network
------------------------------
POWERTRAIN CONTROL
------------------------------
#P0516-00
battery temperature sensor circuit low-
active
=> Network comm issue, bad sensor or network
----------------//-------------------
Anyone out here with experience w/ this sort of failure/strange behaviour? I do not believe the IBS/LIN issue can cause it, doesn't make much sense to me....
Any hints or tips?
Thank you for your help!
