I have high ceilings like you and really like this Racor lift but my only hesitation is the height for cranking it up and down. are you standing on a ladder and hand cranking/drilling?

Just installed mine on 15 foot ceiling. Haven't lifted the hard top yet. Waiting on a replacement bushing from the manufacturer. Did an overnight test using a wagon. replaced the original vinyl cables with longer one's from Home Depot so I could go down to the floor. Also used the Topsy steel cams and JL kit.

Wait a while. They seem like to alternate between the $500 price point, and then after a month or so you'll see a seller put them up for the low $200's. So if you're patient, you'll eventually see them on Amazon for that price.

It's actually been like this for well over a year. Last summer it was rumored to be taken off the market then started showing up again. I paid $170 last spring but UPS returned it due to box damage before it even got to me. It was months before available again and the price went up like $80. I'd love to have one but sticking with straps and ceiling mounts.

I have been watching the pricing of the Racor hoist's and was wondering why they are either $500 or out of stock. So I called Racor direct and the lady told me they are not discontinued. But now they are only are selling through Amazon. She said they "non-essential" items, and they are sitting on truck waiting to be off loaded. I also asked about the current $500 price and she said that is when they are out of stock. She said they should sell for $250-$280 when in stock. Hope this helps others looking for the Topsy / Racor setup.
