I'm setting up my JL for flat towing. It's a lot more challenging than my TJ :) I've installed Maximus 3 flat tow brackets, a 6 pin socket that powers magnetic brake and turn signals, and a battery charging circuit.

I installed the break away brake switch, but am unsure where to run the wire from the switch to my brake unit. On the TJ, there was a simple rubber grommet in the firewall that I could feed the wire through, but I didn't see any on my JL.

How did others run the wire from their break away switch?

I ran mine along the frame and up through the floor drain plug under the driver's seat.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to take a closer look.

I got it. I googled up a youtube video and saw the grommet between the brake booster and the left inner fender. It's hard plastic and appears to snap into the firewall. There are AC and vacuum lines above the grommet.

I didn't think I could pop it out, drill a hole and pop it back in, so I tried another way. I clamped a 16 penny nail in my vicegrips and heated the end of the nail with my propane torch. I melted a hole in the plastic with the nail, and ran the nail in a circular direction to smooth the edges.

My wire runs from the front bumper, up along side the radiator, back along the left fender and then through the firewall.
