Well...hmm. Thanks for the report. The propane draw seems definitely better than the Firecan...so that's a win. But the cleanup seems like a bitter trade off. Maybe after the first time it wouldn't be so bad...or maybe it would get more annoying...sigh.

Yeah it never really dies down like the Lavabox did. I tested it with multiple propane tanks/sizes and after 8 minutes it always dwindled down to nothing.

I also noticed this trip the propane tank did get ice cold but that still didn't have any effect on the output to the Tripid Torch.

Yeah I mean really I'd been hiking and camping for 2 days without a shower so it wasn't like I was pristine anyway.

Looks like Amazon has a 5Lb tank for like $60. Way more reasonable. I get mine filled at the local hardware store and it costs about $7-8.

Lowes has one for like $70 in stock and yea ACE here fills them and Im sure it would be cheap for 5lbs

Are you going to Badlands? I have that park on my list. I want to hike The Notch Trail.

Black Hills to see MT Rushmore and the Prostitute Museum in Deadwood lol. As well as some wheeling/camping, seeing the views and driving the awesome roads.

If you're just wandering aimlessly, head up to Grand Teton NP. Hands down the prettiest place I've ever seen. You're not that far from there.

I don’t worry about getting them perfectly clean on the trail. I wipe them down, put them in ziploc bag and clean them good at home. Piece of cake in the sink.

Yea a plastic bag and wipes seem like they would be good enough. You are camping after all

For a little propane firepit it definitely puts out some heat. For me it was definitely worth the price.

I gotta be honest, the Tripod Torch looks like it has a lot of benefits but I'm worried it's not going to be long before someone starts a forest fire with one.
