A funny thing happened to me when I brought my JL in for the clutch recall & state emissions inspection last week. The service advisor said the vehicle was blocking their computers from loading the software for the recall and inspection. I've had a Tazer since 2018 & I've been going there since I had the Jeep, doing the same routine... unmarry, reboot, 2 sleep cycles/remove.

In fairness to Joe, I cannot say with any certainty that the Tazer could be the culprit. This is a first, so I'm curious as to whether or not a programmer can cause something like this to happen.

I'm on 11.3.4 & I'll update to 11.3.7 & go back to try again. I didn't mention the Tazer when I handed him the key fob.

Has anyone either heard of or experienced this?

Did you reattach the cables for the security module? Mentioning anything aftermarket, especially a tazer, will usually have dealers throw out all kinds of excuses to complicate things or charge more monies.

I reattached the cables... i didn't think about it at the time (thank you), but it's possible I didn't fully seat one. If that's the case, I'd be surprised if that wasn't checked (maybe I shouldn't be).

I removed just before I went in for service... no mention of the Tazer.

After my next visit, I'll post back regardless of outcome.

Upon further review, I'd have to chalk this up to user error & take the L. On my 2nd attempt (different location) this problem didn't resurface. After the unmarry/sleep cycle dance I reattached the cables to the security module & made sure they were in tight.

Nothing to see here.
