Please tell me what car you can take to the car wash, flood the top and drip rails with water, open the doors instantly and not get water dripping inside. Complete non-issue.
Looks like the issue is partly due to Jeep removing the drip rail channel from the sides of the front windshield frame. My CJ7 has drip rails (gutters) built into the windshield frame in that location, running down either side of the frame. Older cars often had gutters surrounding the entire upper door frame, like my 65 Mustang. Probably were removed to reduce air drag and noise, but the result is more issues with water?

Of course you could simply be accurate the first time, but hey why be accurate when you can use hyperbole and moan about 60% increase and double inflation rate.

I’m calculating it using accurate numbers, I don’t know where you’re pulling the numbers from. MSRP was 29,249 for the 20007 JKU Rubicon so 40,495 is 38.449% more I rounded to 38.5% for your benefit.
However as your margin of error is about 25-50% instead of 5%, and that’s without even usig the 60% number, then yeah it would be very misleading, especially when talking JLUR which has significantly more stuff... like double-stuffed versus just the price increase over inflation of a JKUR.
In real dollars out of my pocket it's 60% ($48k from $30k). I wasn't making any wild claims and it's my right to "moan" if I want to about a significant jump in price. That's accurate and really all I was trying to say before you were compelled to jump in as always.

Maybe I was $200 off the US MSRP for the 2007 JKUR from where I found the price. So that makes the difference between double inflation (44.8%) and the 38.5% price increase 6.3%. That doesn't even factor the additional options available and the total price that most people get to by the time they're out the door now versus back then so I think that difference is pretty small and I'd still argue it's nearly double inflation.

You are not a true JLWF member until you have a heated debate with Great Grape Ape
It's funny cause I was being honest when I said he was one of the reasons I didn't bother signing up or posting anything. I didn't want to get into it with anyone, that's completely not my personality, but if someone's going to be douchey to me then I'm going to respond. The thing is he's a smart guy and generally has good information, it's purely in the delivery of that information. Usually people like that are stupid and like to flame people anyway which is surprisingly worse.

Overall I felt like this forum was so much better than a couple of other ones I've been monitoring both from a content standpoint and how people treat each other which I respected. I probably won't engage much more in posting anything if this is what happens.

I think WXman is thinking the drip comes from the track. That is were you would use tubes. Gutters are older than all of us. It would be unprecedented and very strange to connect a tube to that. I guess it would be like a downspout routed into a hole in the A-pillar?
Apparently there are some tubes in the front windshield frame to channel water that has leaked past the front freedom panel seals? Although this seems entirely separate from the gutter situation.

Compelled to mention that you’re taking advantage of the exchange rate to over-inflate the increase, which taken in relation to the change in the dollar is significantly lower than the increase to the south. Then you exaggerate the US difference in reply, which again is contrary to the experience here.

Reality is that the increase is not out of line with those of other vehicles and keeps with the typical mild percentage increases year over year, and neither double the inflation rate nor significant out of line with the change in exchange rate.

People like yourself can complain about the increase, but others can equally point out what amounts to a $4,500 increase in today dollar for a Rubicon from first JKUR to JLUR is still small considering all the updates.

Sorry, I still disagree but I'm fine to just move on from this and we can each have a different opinion. There are so many other things we could argue about surrounding the overall price and its relation to Jeep's costs but it's not worth it and we've had enough fun.

Now that I've got all of the pricing it looks like my Jeep is going to cost me somewhere between $67-70K (Canadian - tax and everything in) versus the all in price of just under $37k 11 years ago. Just so I'm not misleading anyone, that was only $4k worth of options back then and almost $11k this time. Either way, I'm excited to hopefully get the order in tomorrow or Saturday depending on the colour availability.

There will never be a Wrangler with a top that doesn't leak. Even in the future, when we have hover Jeeps, all the kids wear their jeans inside out, and you can toss a miniature pizza into an ovenmotron that instantly turns it into a big one, Jeeps will still leak.

OK, I'll bite.

The vehicles I've owned that wouldn't do this:

Chevy Camaro
Ford Mustang
Jeep Liberty
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeep YJ Wrangler
Ford F-150
Chevy Silverado
Dodge Ram 1500
Ford Ranger
Dodge Challenger

And for the record, the water wasn't dripping in that video they posted. It was running in quickly. And, nobody that I know washes their Jeep, then stands there for a half hour to let the water drain off before leaving the car wash. So this IS an issue.
