Stupid question, can you top off the power steering fluid from an opened bottle that's about 3 years old? Does it "expire" like brake fluid does?

I topped my 2021 off a few years ago and have had the opened container on my shelf since.
Well, how often have you changed your power steering fluid? You jeep's fluid is essentially open to oxygen. The bottle, at least, was capped. Right?

There is no such thing as a "stupid question", what's stupid is not to ask a question(s)...

I'd say as long as that bottle has been capped then it's ok to use for topping off what you currently have in the reservoir now.

When it's time to address the fluid in the reservoir when it ages out, do use a new sealed bottle of fluid.

The electric power steering requires a special type hydraulic fluid. Do not use ATF! Ust the Mopar fluid or the Pentosin.
