I hope whatever air compressor that you are using is not rated for drawing more power than the circuit is rated for you are using.
viair 400P which they claim is 30 amp max...it has an inline fuse and the 7pin is a 30amp fuse for the hot. it worked great in Moab and in Colorado

I run a single ARB mounted on the underside of my cargo shelf with a plug that I insert into my 7-pin for power. Hook it all up, plug it in, and press the AUX button to inflate. Works great.

After reading several posts regarding electrical gremlins, especially with the Warn Evo 10 Winch mysteriously activating in either direction, I elected to install a power (battery type) cut-off switch between my secondary/accessory battery and the winch, to prevent such of an occurrence.

The previous posts I read had some pictures were in those instances, the winch activated on its own and retracted/spooled up and cause extreme damage to the steel bumper and front end and eventually caused a fire by smoking the cables.

My original plan was to install a remote relay, but I wasn't real successful in finding a continuous-duty relay with a minimum rating of 400 amps, and connect it to an Auxiliary Circuit. The problem with my Aux circuits, all four of them are already in use almost at max capacity, so that plan is out, besides there wasn't a whole lot to choose from for an automotive application.

So, I elected to go with a manual Flaming River 400 Amp Power Cut-Off Switch since their products are made in America. I don't trust the quality of cheap Pandaland products. I fabricated my own custom length cables and crimped the lugs on.

I installed the cut-off switch under the hood. It may be a pain to open the hood every time to switch the power to the winch on, but at least it'll be a peace-of-mind. Anyways, it is not like that I have to use the winch all the time.

I use the Stinger SGP35 500-Amp solenoid for mine. My Aux one switch powers the solenoid.

so just installed a winch, but as i was googling, i came across several places selling a power cutoff for winches. Is that something that I need? Why would i need it? And would it be a good idea to wire it to an AUX switch?
As a firefighter/paramedic and a fmr Porsche tech I don’t like hot, high current wires snaking around the front of my vehicles waiting to be shorted to ground in a crash. I usually install a very high amp rated battery switch between the battery and the winch. The photo is of the one I put on my Ford Effin’ Ranger.

Might not hurt to throw a cap/boot insulator on that big B+ cable post.
I did. lol
And now the snorkel tube also covers it.

Finished this one today. A bit tight with the LasFit aux switches box, but workable.

I have the same setup with a Viair 450P. Works great.
