Hey ya'll, I have a question about the extreme recon package that I thought I would throw out here to this massive thread in hopes for some answers from peeps in the know;

What part of the recon package increases the GVW rating to 6100 lbs? I am guessing it is the beefed up brakes?

I am curious because I am planning on overlanding with my family of 6 and with gear mounted on the rhino rack (with backbone) I could be pushing the GVW rating.
I think you are going to have to leave the family at home. The sticker on my door says not to exceed 850 lbs.

. . . realizing each day–
Out of curiosity what was the build date of your 392XR? Mine was built 9 days ago and still waiting for optional equipment installation, whatever the hell that means. I’m assuming it’ll sit for more weeks after equipment install pending final inspection, then another month shipping. Eff-ing ridiculous.
Here is our JLUR XR's time since build.

—Rail: revised port delivery 22 December
—Rail: revised dealer delivery 20 December - 24 December
2 December KZT second rail departure
–Rail: 22 November 9:40am EST shipped with an estimated rail yard arrival 2 December 9:45am CST in Kirby Texas. Estimated dealer delivery 2 December - 16 December
–Truck: Toledo - Stickney to Toledo - Rail
22 November KZ released by plant and invoiced
21 November window sticker available at servlet
–Truck:
Mopar Custom Shop to Toledo - Stickney
–Truck: Toledo - Silver Creek to Mopar Custom Shop Toledo
–Truck: Toledo - Stckney to Toledo - Silver Creek
9 November build sheet available at servlet
8 November G trim

Build finished on 9 November, finished with additional equipment and inspection on 21 November. Shipped by rail on 22 November, still awaiting arrival of the train so we can wait for the truck to deliver to the dealer. So far for us: 37 days since build. At this point I am thinking it will be over 50 days since build to deliver–

Obviously I’m no auto industry expert, but I just don’t understand why it would take app two months to deliver a built vehicle. Hopefully you’re wait is close to being over.

Decided to take advantage of some sweet Northridge4x4 sale prices and order my 2022 XR its Artec Nighthawk front front bumper setup. Anyone else started buying parts for the XR before it arrives?

Anyone that has driven the XR package on the V6 w/etorque and 4.56 gears, how is it compared to a stock Willys v6 w/etorque (3.45 gears)?

I have not, but I can almost 100% guarantee that it’s a world of difference with the edge being 4.56

It’s been while since I have posted. Our 392 XR had been flopping in and out of D1. It’s finally built and should be at our dealer any day now. While this was happening our other car died and I picked up a new 4XE Rubicon for my wife while we waited for the 392 since it seemed like it would be a while before it got here. Last night we were driving home and we’re hit by a drunk driver going 100mph while we were at a red light(I can’t go into more details including injuries as of right now). Those steel bumpers really soaked the impact. I couldn’t imagine what would have happened if we were in my corvette. I am not allowed to post any pictures yet but am glad our new Jeep should be here any day now. My wife and I are both back at home now but that was the worst thing I have ever had to experience. Hope everyone who is traveling stays safe and has a great Christmas.

Glad you are okay, rest up and I hope you sue for a lot of $$ (maybe enough to pay for 2 392XR's.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide on the XR or the Diesel.
Diesel is really nice. I love mine. But you should drive one first. On my Gladiator ( the diesel ) I get 18-19 city lifted on 37’s with a heavy foot. Highway cursing it’s around 23-24. Stock was slightly better.

Power wise it’s great but it’s not “fast.” Probably a bit slower than my wife’s 2 door 2.0 UNTIL you get to 65-70 then it’s way faster at highway speeds.

IMO if you like the diesel you don’t need to regear which is nice.

Glad you’re still here and able to post! Cars can be replaced, lives cannot. I’d sue that other driver for everything they’re worth. Hope you and your wife have a speedy recovery

I did drive one about a week ago, loved it. My concern is potential maintenance cost along with my driving habits. Take one or two long trips per year and mostly drive short distances. My work commute is about 20-25 mins. I drive a lot of backroads.

Glad you both are doing ok. Best wishes all around and for a full/speedy recovery.
